Has anyone stayed there recently? I'm flying out of EWR on July 6 on a very early flight 7:20am, so I'm planning on staying at a motel near the airport and Econo Lodge had a very good rate. But I am going alone and kind of apprehensive staying in Newark (even though it is the airport area). Should I be concerned? I know the Marriott at Newark airport is wonderful but the rate is ridiculous for a 1 night stay ($165 too much for my budget). I live in PA and I was originally going with others from NJ who bailed out on me at the last minute, and the airport is 2 hours away. TIA :teeth:

I haven't stayed there recently, but tripadvisor.com doesn't give it a very positive review. Go to the site and type in Newark Airport as your destination for a reviews of the area hotels. I stayed at Country Inn and Suites @ Newark for park, sleep and fly in April and found it wonderful, just as it was reviewed on that site. I don't book anywhere without consulting it!
Good luck and have a great trip!

Econo Lodge is North of the airport and can be tricky to find. The suites are on Route 1&9, again can be tricky to find as at that point of Route 1&9 you have mergers for interstate 78 and local rtes 21 and 22. They have shuttle vans back and forth that make the connections ez but getting there can be tough if unfamiliar. There are hotels in Linden, Rahway, Woodbidge. I believe a few that run shuttle service in Clinton area that run shuttles that are on route 78 west of the airport by 20 minutes.. Hope this helps your search.

I stayed there years ago, and I wouldn't recomend it. It wasn't very clean & the room i was in had giant stains in the carpet.

I just stayed at the ramada inn on 1/9 for 60 a night. it was clean and very friendly. it was what is was for an early flight out. not the marriot, but did not also want to spend that money. i also used an offsite parking that was literallytwo minutes away from the ramada. avistar mcclellan., dont know if you are having a caR or not. I also heard the econo lodge was bad. good luck

Thank you all for your responses. I'm going to continue to look for another hotel. Anyone stay at the Ramada Inn at Newark Int'l Airport? :cool1:

look at the above post from me, it is about the ramada

Thank you for your response. I will be staying at the Ramada. I just need a place to sleep 1 night, having dinner at home and then my daughter is dropping me off so this should fit my needs. I just want a safe and clean place to sleep for the 1 night and didn't want to pay over $65 for it. Thanks again. :teeth:
