EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

Another one to look at is Air Lingus we used them for flight home in 2011. They will not let you book our dates yet but the dates in May I was looking at where in the 500's.

The Iceland flight also intrigues me as a fun place for a long layover.

If you decide to take the Icelandic flight you might want to get in touch with Cayla and Cathy, AKA Padalyn. They took that flight and organized a tour between flights. Perhaps they can give you some input.

Thanks!

 Hello everyone.

We booked this while on the EBTA and are really hopeful that we can make it! We are also booked on an Alaskan in June of next year, we can only do one or the other. The Alaskan is after our girls are out of school, but we'd really prefer the EBTA. Just waiting until the new school year starts to see if it'll be a problem to take them out. It wasn't a problem this year, but one never knows if things will change. In any case, we'll cancel the Alaskan if we end up being able to swing this cruise :cheer2:

It will be me, DH and our twin girls who will be nine, almost ten, on the EBTA. It will be the fifth cruise for each of us. We are super excited to see the new Disney Magic pixiedust:

We loved this year's EBTA, it was our first TA. We followed it with the first Med. We loved our cruise meet group and didn't actually do much with them, but loved seeing them around. There were a TON of activities that folks planned, it was really cool. And MandyGirl got a fantastic personal navigator together for us that showed all the activities.

We spent this cruise mostly just hanging out and hitting the pool. (I'm happy to report that I never once got in the pool. But my husband had to get in every day with the girls.)
I am fine with category we have now. I was just surprised that a week prior there were lots of 11B rooms and now there are none. I was having a hard time finding a room that was available on this and the first Mediterranean since we are doing a B2B I didn't want to pack up and move to a different room.

I am sure the rooms are filling up with that 20% off deal being offered, wish I was sailing soon :)
We were originally booked in different rooms for our EBTA and Med. A few months before the EBTA left my TA contacted us and said that one of the rooms was no available for both legs and did I want to move? Yes! So even though it looked as if we'd have to change, the room did open up closer to sailing. I think it may have been after the PIF date, so keep checking.

We just returned from that 2013 EBTA and booked this cruise on board as well!

We really had a great time, and the sea days made it wonderful!

Can't thank everyone enough for organizing activities for it - it was truly a group effort!
Hello dinner mate! We were lucky enough to eat with the Viking_53 family each night. It was super :goodvibes

Well, hopefully we can met on this cruise! Did you get your certificate? If not, I can email it to you. Just let me know. So glad you stayed motivated! I was amazed at how many people were active. And your welcome for the card, I had fun making them (and using leftover wedding supplies).

If there are no other takers, I could be in charge of the running/walking club again.
:cheer2: Maybe next year I'll make it more often! But maybe not :lmao:. I mentioned on another thread htat I managed to be on the boat eating like a pig for 21 days and I didn't gain any weight! (I did have some bloat from the salty food that was gone after a day.) I only managed to do my walking on deck four five times or so. But what really worked for us was that we booked a room on the first deck and vowed to never use the elevator. It was easier than I anticipated. The girls never used the elevator and I used it five times: twice when I had too much food to carry, twice when with someone in a wheelchair and once when with the captain and I didn't think I should tell him we had to take the stairs. I think I must have run up to deck 9 at least five times a day just to get :coffee: We plan on staying on deck one again.

(And for anyone wondering, it was fantastic. Super quiet on the EBTA. On the Med there was an obnoxious family across from us that was yelling and running in the halls past midnight every night.)

Now I have a reason to tell my DH why were can't cancel this cruise, I am in charge of something!
:lmao:

:cool1: for sure, I guess he is hooked now! I knew that if he enjoyed this first one then he would not be able to resist. Just need to work out flights, prices and everything else to seal the deal.

I will be watching these boards for tips and information on best airports and prices. I am wondering how awful dcl flight prices are? Will have to get a quote from them.

I am also waiting for my email from DCL about my on board booking and my DU TA. I can see the booking on the dcl website, so that is a relief.
We used Disney Air this year and it was $1174. That flew us from the PNW to TX, put us in a hotel for the night, transfers to the port, then transfers to BCN and from BCN back home. For next year we have it scheduled and it's $1386 :crazy2: But it includes air to MCO, a night at the Hyatt and transfers. We'll look for something better, but we'll keep Disney Air in case we don't find something better.

Love this! But, wondering if the design on the Tshirt might be better on the back for us, um......., busty ladies. ;)
:

Hello Angie - If it works out with this company we could certainly put the image on the back of the shirt. We could also put a large image on the back and a small emblem on one side of the front on the upper part of the chest. They also have tee shirts with pockets. Thinking as I write, maybe we would want to pick a color and image and everyone could pick which shirt type and image position works best for them.

Love those ones. I know my husband would like one. It's a shame they didn't want to print it like that.

Calling all ladies! For our Champagne Girls..we are doing the DCL sponsored event..
It is $30 per person and includes many drinks of champagne! We wear pink, have pink boas, tiaras, pink hair or anything pink. Great fun..lots of chatting, pictures of all and lots of fun.

I have started a list for the Champagne Girls. Please wear pink and be prepared to have great fun.

If you don't want to drink champagne but are a "supporter", let me know in a pm and I will not included you on the list for DCL but in the list for the Champagne Girls.

We will need a photographer to take the group picture.

Please sign up by pm and giving me your real name and cabin number. Before I give the list to DCL, I will confirm with you by pm that you are still interested and know the charge by DCL will be $30 per person.

I am ok with what I ended up with, it just took some work and playing around. They accepted the back image, after I took off the wording Disney Cruise LIne and the logo. I replaced it with the wording Trans-Atlantic Magic which is ok. On the ship I had to block out the mickey ears on the stacks. I made them white circles and since they are so small it doesn't really hurt the image. I took the opportunity to remove two of the decks so the ship looks more like the Magic then the Dream. They also needed a HUGE file, pixel dimensions over 3M. On the front, they would not touch the Mickey so I put another image on it that I like, not as well, but ok. The tee would be $26 and the jacket $45

As I have said, they are more expensive but I think the quality of the product, both image and shirt, will be good. I did try it on Vista Print, but they only have white, black and gray in their cheapest tee and only white in their higher quality shirt. With no coupons it would be $22.98.

WOW you are talented. Those are great!

Thanks.

Count me in for one of each.

Thanks, but don't give me to much credit, I can manipulate images pretty well but I am not the artist - Another nice thing about this company is I can just post the design number and link to the company site and you can order your own shirts. The price includes tax (except in California) and shipping charges. There is a discount for volume but if I put in one order, they would add the San Francisco tax, 7.5% and then I would have to add on the USPS mailing charges. So the volume discount would be lost in these additional charges. They are located in Berkeley, about 30 minutes from my home in San Francisco. So maybe in a few months, if interest is there for group shirts, I'll take a trip over to their office and check out the different merchandise.

I am going to be in Berkeley from July 3rd through the 8th! Where is it located?

Thanks for organizing this. Please add me to your list. If you need Cabana boys or Bob to take pictures, let me know.

I would love for Bob to take pictures.

And :thumbsup2 YEAH!:cheer2: our first Cabana Boy!

It's official we are in!!! It will be me, DH, DD (20), and Uncle and Aunt in separate cabin.:banana: I'm looking forward to a relaxing cruise!!:cloud9:

Girls, are you mad ????!!!!! We can't have the boys there, Stevie will drink all mine too and I won't get any :rotfl2:

I agree .... they are way too much of a liability .... plus as much as we love them :hug: we do like the excuse to get away from them for an hour for a girly chat princess:princess: and a few bubbles !!

It is completely up to the organizer what they want to do and I am more then fine with either males there or not. One time I organized and I didn't have any males in the room (We had the Roy Disney Suite). The next time I had Bob and another male there to take pictures. I've been to CGs where the Cabana Boys served the champagne and others with ladies only. Both ways were a lot of fun.

I don't know about that Mary, after hearing a certain story from Stevie, I can't imagine that he would ever try and take something from you! Unless he is wearing a cup! Then he might attempt it.

My friend attended the CG event you hosted in the Roy Suite during the MR cruise. If I remember correctly, the boys did something else, whiskey maybe?

My vote is for all girls but I don't have to worry as I am sure my husband will not attend or want to be associated with me after last year's CG. I am sure he is already practicing his line, "Why no, that is NOT my wife, I don't know who that is? I've never seen them before in my life!"

Hi all. Looking forward our first Disney Cruise and it looks like we chose a good one! There are four of us...me, my husband and two daughters (8 & 11.) I can't wait to read through all the threads!

On the Hawaii trip one generous person arranged Shutters to take a group picture. They charged $75 to take one photo that we then had the privilege to purchase.. And I think the ones we took outselves were better. Just my 2cents worth.

On one of the PC cruises I organized a CG. We all marched down to the lobby (after the drinking) and Daisy Duck happened to see us and joined in. We gave her a pink boa and tiara. Bob took pictures from the 4th floor overlook.
