EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

I am still sorry that Parrot Cay is going..I did love that restaurant theme. But progress. Looks amazing, cant wait to see her..

Sooo happy with the new additions to the Magic. Kids are so excited that they get some of the new ship perks for an extended period of time... mommy is excited about the cost for the 12 nights compared to a 7 night on the Fantasy!
Think those at sea days are gonna be a LOT of fun! And yay!!! I'm 5"4... can still fit the Twist and Spout!

Yea! Just got off the Magic yesterday and we booked this one on board.....Me (Shannon) DH Nick, DS Jacob 13 and DD Caitlyn 10 :) super excited this will be our first European visit :)
:cool1:

Me too! I am 5'2" and can't wait to try the slide!

I haven't booked yet, but am this.close to it. :cheer2:

I'd have to pull my son out of school for the last 3 days of the year. He will be in 2nd grade next year. That and the logistics of getting home are the things I'm noodling over before I book.

I am taking my daughter out for 2.5 weeks for the cruise in grade 3 ;), if it makes you feel any better:) I think she will get more out of the trip than what she could get out of school during the same time.

The trip home is hard to plan right now since most airlines don't have flights out that far. I have my eye on a couple of charter companies that charge a reasonable rate for a one way ticket from Europe.

I'm also taking my son out of school for the firs week but he will only be 7 and I'm sure what he will gain from this experience will make up for the week off school.

I see on our Google page that Caitlyn will be 11 on the cruise, so will my DD Tegan. I've heard there doesn't tend to be as many kids on the TA's, so I'm excited to see another girl her age :goodvibes

oh fun....we just got a cruise where Cait did not really find anyone her age, she ended up wanting to stay with us, which is fine, but I wanted her to enjoy the club as well. I am hoping that the edge will be a better fit for her, maybe they will enjoy it together :)

I just had this conversation with a friend of mine this evening, my kids will be missing about 3 weeks in total, but I really think they will get way more out of traveling then fooling around in school which is what always happens during the last month of the school year. I told my son that he can practice his spanish since he will be taking his first year of it next school year :)

My 3 youngins will miss a whole month of school and go back for 10 days!
2 are in french immersion so we will be getting lots of new "cruise related" words before they go.
I speak no french at all... LOL
My kids also do a travel journal every day and have to research each place we are stopping in terms of language, flag, money, capital city, 1 historic fact
They also will each have a digital camera to take their own pics and will scrapbook when they get home.

Tegan didn't like the younger clubs much either, when we went in January, so I am hoping the Edge is better for her too.

We will be on this cruise. Travelling with my DD-9, DD-7 and DS-2
Very excited :goodvibes

We are on the EBTA this May and tinkering with booking it 2014 (bidding for vacation schedule will dictate... Or we may spend more time pre WBTA in Europe and not get to do both as I am in my 30s and not close to retirement yet so limited vacation time). Booked on WBTA 2014 for sure. Anyway, With flights watch Iceland Air when their schedule opens. We got one-way tix for $2200 for all four of us for this june. Free stopover in Iceland so you just pay for hotel (we will your Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon). When I found that rate and shared it on our ebta thread, several others also booked it. One couple it saved them 53% over any other fare they had found. We had enough frequent flyer miles but did not like the connections and taxes/fees on those flights so just purchased tickets for not much more and better connections (we have young kiddos).

When we were getting ready for WBTA 2011 I spent time reading about the other crossings to get more ideas... Many ports are duplicated. Worth looking at roll calls and trip reports :) can definitely give two thumbs up for Daniel Taxi in Madeira. Our favorite Barcelona area is just north of Placa Catalunya around Passeig de Gracia metro stop / Casa Batllo. Stayed at Acta Atrium Palace for WBTA 2011 but have an apartment rented for post EBTA 2013 before boarding a non-DCL 12 nt Med cruise.

We've only been on one DCL crossing plus the one coming up this month... You are in for a treat if it is your first! :)

We booked! Whoo-hoo!

We also got my ILs to book! They'll be in the room beside us.:)

We have a friend who is interested enough that he is about to call DCL... my fingers are crossed!

Hey Happy Peach, we were on the April 6th Fantasy with you. I remember seeing your name on that board when I was checking in it. Talk about a coincidence.

We met some people from Atlanta - Shannon and Lisa I believe were the names.

My partner and I are going, this is going to be our second cruise.
