The stateroom crawl sounds great -when is it scheduled? I think it was TBD on the meet page of Jeff's site. I am thrilled to be able to see the suites!

Also, I saw a poker (non gambling) card group. Bob Bowen is arranging. Does anyone know where that will be? Sounds like it is at 10 each night.

Liz :flower3:

The stateroom crawl is TBD. I've done these before on an early Sea Day but on those cruises there were very few Sea Days...on this cruise we have quite a few. With that in mind, I'm thinking maybe Day 6 or 7 after we've done the Cabo and PV port stops and have that run of 4 back to back Sea Days. Thoughts?

On the card meet, Bob thought it'd be a good idea to have some kind of activity for guys who weren't ready to roll in the sidewalks at 10 pm. Although, I don't think there would be a problem with ladies joining in as well but Bob can chime in if this is the He-man Woman Haters Club. ;) Probably on nights before Sea Days but could be other nights too if we're not arriving to port until later. I would guess it'd be in one of the lounges. The Promenade would be a good candidate but it could also be in one of the other lounges/cafe's.

DH plays cards too. So he may be interested in a few hands. I know we like to go to the club shows after dinner, but I am sure he would play a few games.

Hi everyone! We joined this cruise at almost the last minute!

My group consists of me, DH, DM, DS's (5 and turning 2 on the cruise) and DD's (turning 4 on the cruise and 4months at the time) .

We jumped on the gty deal and have no idea where we'll be on the ship yet, but we are so so excited.

We'll be flying into LA the day before and doing a one day trip through Disneyland before getting on the ship.

This thread is a little daunting, but I'm trying to work my way through it.

But if anyone wants to give a tiny little cliffs notes version of the events/meets and important things I should know I would be forever grateful.

Welcome aboard!! Jeff has put together a fantastic website with most events/meets. The link is found on the first page of this thread. If you can't find what you need to know there, just ask. This is very helpful bunch:)

In light of the announcement that Disney's bought the rights to the Star Wars franchise, do you think DCL will start doing a Star Wars night, kind of like Pirates' night? Do you think it's too late for them to organize one on our sailing?
At the very least I hope they show the movies on Ariel Vision :thumbsup2 or am I the only one who would love this?????

DH was walking around lost last night and I asked him what was wrong and he responded with, "I don't know what to do with out the internet. How did people live like this? So for the first time since I have known him, he opened a book and READ. I had to capture the moment with a camera.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I know exactly how he feels!
As I got on the interstate today to go do some shopping, I merged into a caravan of 13 trucks from Southeast Power (most marked Shreveport, LA) heading north. Hopefully those up north know that help is on the way!
FINALLY got our power back at 9:10pm!!!! 71 hrs. without is quite long enough ::yes::. There were crews from TX, AL and GA in our area, and silly me thought it was overkill when they were all sitting idle before the storm struck. I should have known better... These guys are my new heroes:lovestruc.

I seen a suggestion back in the earlier threads (sorry not sure who it was) about using decks of cards, taking one card from each room and meeting somewhere at the end and who ever had the best hand would win a small prize.
Fun idea :thumbsup2

DD Jess is a major SW fan and would gladly join in on any SW activity. Seriously. Major. Star. Wars. Fan. I don't necessarily "get it", but I support her quirkiness wholeheartedly :goodvibes.

I am finally caught up. My first day back to work after Sandy. Northern NJ got hit hard, but we were lucky. Everyone is safe, and no damage to the house. The pictures of the NJ shore are heartbreaking. I can't imagine what it must be like in person.

Today was the first time I have ventured out of town, and the lines on the highways for gas are not to be believed. They go so far back that I wonder how the people on the back of the line know what they're actually in line for. As someone at work said, they could finally get to the front, and find out it was the drive-thru at Burger King.

I filled up my tank Saturday on the way home, and Sunday after some errands, I topped off again. It cost me all of $15 to top off, and it seemed silly at the time, but now I'm glad I did after seeing those lines! At least I know I can make it through the weekend, and hopefully by Monday, more gas stations will open.

I am caught up on all the posts and PM's from those flying out of FLL. You can find the updated list here:

FLL List

We teamed up with haileyboo. We have a flight at 11:55 so the timing works out great. Thanks for looking out for us.

I am also a huge Star Wars fan. I am so excited about episode 7 in 2015. Maybe I should pack my light saber just in case. :cool1: :yay: Disney could fill a whole ship if they did a Star Wars themed cruise. Sherry

I was shopping the Disney shop online yesterday. I was looking for the pumpkin mouse ears that I wished I had bought on my cruise last week. Found them! Anyway. I also found a Disney Cruise Line watch in the sales. And yesterday all Authentic Disney was 25% extra off. So I did score the mouse ears and the watch. Anyone looking for a great gift idea? Have fun shopping. Sherry

Am I the only one who has never seen a Star Wars movie??? I'm more of a chick flick girl.

I have never seen the original Star Wars and have no memory of the next two (I may have seen them as a kid). Never seen and no interest in any of the prequils.

I have 2 sons, 8 and 6, that can tell you everything about all 6 of the movies. They must have gotten that gene from their mother.

A Star Wars cruise is something I would pass on.

I don't have a preference for any particular day, but as far as the time I would suggest mid-afternoon AFTER the rooms have been cleaned by the cabin attendants.

I'm in for some cards. Not a bridge man myself. More vegas-style card games.:cool2:

So, just for fun I typed in the book title on the Accelerated Reader book find page (if you have school age children, you may know what I'm talking about). It's 46 points...longer than Moby Dick!

Just finishing wrapping gifts from the jolly old guy in the red suit. Then, back in the attic they go awaiting our arrival home. Can't believe how close we are to the cruise date!

I found all my Navigators from the EBPC in January 2011 so if anyone has any questions from the Navigators, I'll be glad to look it up.

Judy, if you get a hold of your navigators, I'd love to know if their is a lecture my 9 year old could go to or were they all adults only.

I've glanced through the Navigators and I don't see any info on the PC for kids. Maybe they will have something in their areas but probably not as in depth.

Judy, I'm curious about the when the time changes are made on the EBPC. Would your WBPC help with answering that question?

The ship changes the time sometime in the middle of the night. A card is left on your bed at night reminding you to change your clocks before you go to bed. It is also printed on the Navigator that you get the night before. There were three time changes.

If it makes the guys feel better, I was actually inquiring for my DH (Decked Out) who loves poker. So no worries about a girl crashing the group!

!

Is this the same as the Reading Counts program? This is what is used at my kid's school. Both my boys love to take as many quizzes possible on books because they like to compete with each other. I think the most points a book has had that they read was 14. I will have to tell them about this book being 46 points! LOL

I asked a few days ago, but not sure people with kids saw.

Does anyone know if their kids still like Silly Bands? Or would they not be fun anymore?

we still have 2 seats left at our table at 8 p.m. if anyone wants to join.
Just let me know. we are also sitting next to another table of people from here.
