What day is the Wonder in San Francisco? I would love to see it at the dock!

The Wonder will be in San Francisco every Tues and Wednesday starting September 18 and stopping on October 10. These are the Pacific Coast Pixar cruises. :)

Cool, thanks so much! I can drive my DD up to the city and show her the ship we will be traveling on in December. I've never seen any of the DCL ships myself so looking forward to the "preview" glimpse yay!

My DH and I are going on the repositioning cruise from Vancouver and will be in San Francisco Sept 13 and 14th . One week from today. Can't wait.

I forgot about the repositioning cruise! If it were on a Saturday, I'd drive the 2 hours to come by and wave :wave2:

Wow, every Tues and Weds in SF. I may have to brave the Bay Bridge traffic and bring DS in one afternoon. I have never seen any of the Disney ships either! :goodvibes

The good news is they will be there all day, so you don't have to go during commute hours! If you go in the afternoon, I would just stay for dinner and wait until traffic lightens up...I cannot stand sitting in traffic!

On the main cruise board, there is a thread explaining fish extenders, fish extender gifts and so forth. Just do a search for it, if it's not on the first page. Anyone can put stuff IN. That's what i'm planning to do;)

Thank you. I read up on it, including the website that Jeff set up. I understand I'm supposed to PM dthogue about participating in the FE, but when I hit the send button I got the message that I haven't earned the right to PM (not until I hit the 10 post milestone). :)

So you just have to keep posting here to get your counts up! I actually just saw a thread with a title "Post here to get your counts up," so don't be afraid to be make small talk.
This will be our first FE, and I am both nervous and excited.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Small talk is a good idea, Jenn! That's how we get to know one another. The cruises where the threads are chatty, the group always seems to get very cohesive by the time we actually sail. I always look forward to meeting in person the ones I know best.

No need to be nervous over the FE exchange - truly! No gift is too small. It's tremendously fun to come back to the cabin and find a surprise there. Practical? Pretty? Creative? Zany? All are welcome . . .

Off to the gym. Yesterday I got quite a shock on the scale - the number was down 5 pounds! I went back to look at it, just to enjoy the feeling and oops! Up a half. I KNEW the down one had just been too good to be true.

Happy Day, all!

Great tip -- thank you. I'm sure I'll be on my way in no time. Now it's off to work (I love 4 day work weeks).

So I never had enough free time to start to digital scrapbook (Thanks LindaBabe for all the info) our wedding photos as a 1 year anniversary gift for the DH. So I decided to just get him a tablet. I figured it replaces paper so therefore should count as a paper gift, plus it comes in a cardboard box and that counts, right? Since DH is a software engineer, I knew he would be picky about what he got but I didn't want to ruin the surprise and ask him. I did know better than to get an Ipad. Finally after asking my boss's hubby who is also a software engineer, I got him the Nexus 7. I hope he likes it! I also hope it will solve the "I'm going to be bored on this cruise" whining. DH needs to be kept active, entertained and occupied at all times. This isn't a problem when we travel with our friends because my friend's hubby is the same way and they occupy each other. Plus on the Fantasy, any break in activity was spend on the aquaduck or spent playing mid-ship agency. DH is also afraid our nephew will ditch him for the kid's clubs (sadly, they entertain each other alot). While I love to sit by the pool and read, DH will not. Anyway, I am hoping he will play on his tablet while I read and hopefully he won't bother me! I wish he could sit still and relax. It's like I have a 31 year old child.

Is anyone else worried about being bored during the many Sea Days?

We've never been on a 14 day cruise but have never been bored. There is always so much to do or do absolutely nothing at all:)

If your husband is bored on this cruise, it will be because he CHOOSES to be bored. :rotfl2: As for me, I know I need to take my day planner, because there are too many choices and too little time.

On the planning front:
DH was in planning mood yesterday and called Disney and prepaid our tips. He wanted to get that expense out of the way. He also put together his "must do in Disneyland" list, which is a crazy EXCEL spreadsheet. He also put togther a "things not to pack since we can buy them at the Target near Disneyland" list. I think he is getting excited.

We also ended up getting a rental car last night. By the time we paid for a shuttle for 5 of us, it was pretty much the same price. This way, we can sightsee. DH will drop us off at the port and then return the car, he will either taxi back (which I hope he does) or his plan which is to "get my run in for the day and run the 4 miles back to the port". I see this being a smelly disaster.

Does anyone know if we can check-in without him or do we have to wait till everyone in our party is there?
He definitely sounds like a fun guy ;)! I don't think you can check in unless your entire party is present, but I could be wrong (as if!!!) :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes, we're now looking at a hurricane. I will apologize right now to all of you...it's me!

I've taken a lot of Disney cruises, and had bad weather on many of them.
Hopefully, someone on this PC cruise has better karma than I do and will bring lots of beautiful weather for all of us. However, the bad weather has never made me not enjoy a cruise! Seasickness does pass sooner or later, sea bands and green apples make it a bit easier to bear, and even a bad day at sea is better than a day in my office:rotfl2:!
Beth
Only good Karma here :thumbsup2. We never have serious travel/weather problems, so we'll just assume our vibes override yours, ok? But, if the weather stinks, we'll definitely know who to blame :sad2:...Linda has a good idea (overboard you go!)

In the meantime, is there anythign in this thread explaining what fish extenders are all about and whether people only drop surprises in them if you're part of a group cruising together? We might ask grandma to make one for the fam so any info in that regard would be welcomed.
Cheers
Please check the main boards...much FE information there! Most people just give to people on their FE list, so just putting an FE outside your door may not garner much loot if you're not signed up. Gifts don't have to be anything large or expensive, but creative or local to your home area is always interesting.

It's like I have a 31 year old child.
Is anyone else worried about being bored during the many Sea Days?
First of all, they're all children (mine is 65 and acts like a kid at Christmas when he checks the FE every 5 minutes!:goodvibes). But no, he won't be bored. And if he is, it's his own fault! On the longer cruises, there are more special activities planned.

We've never been on a 14 day cruise but have never been bored. There is always so much to do or do absolutely nothing at all:)
Ditto :thumbsup2

Oops, misread that last one. We have been on two 14-day cruises, but the rest is correct!

Ooooh, can I marry you?? :rotfl:

I really want to get a tablet, but I have a perfectly good (and very light) laptop to travel with, so I'm making myself hold out. I also know myself well enough to know that I'd want one with 4G instead of just wifi capable. I've become so accustomed to being able to just pull out my phone and connect to the internet that I don't think I could handle a tablet that would need a wifi connection to get me information!

In other news, I leave in THREE days to head north for the Sept 12 Canadian cruise!

Yes, You can - you just need copy of all the paperwork and his passport. (Make sure HE still has an id to get through security, though!!!!)

Glad to know my DH isn't the only one who does this! He races me to the room so he can be the first one to check the FE.

Sorry, I'm TAKEN :) We have a desktop at home and then my work laptop, so we really didn't have anything to travel with. But now you have me worried. The nexus doesn't come with 4G and I was hoping since DH is super cheap (he prefers the term frugal), he wouldn't want to pay for another data plan for a tablet. I am hoping if no other wifi is around, he will just tether from his phone. I hope I'm right.....

Good to know. If we couldn't and he chose to run, I was going to tell him he had to clock his fastest 4 miles ever. The kids would not be happy having to wait for him and then having to wait to check in!

I keep telling DH he won't be bored and there will be plenty to do. He loves all the cruise activites so I just hope they have a lot to offer to keep him busy. On our last cruise, the cruise staff and my DH and friend were like best friends and everyone remembered them. But it is hard to forget two guys (with major height differance) who match their disney outfits everyday.

The wives got blamed for this because we were told "we need to stop shopping together" and to "stop thinking the same when we pack them" I pointed out we weren't the ones asking what shirt the other one was going to wear every morning or what dress shirt and tie to wear to dinner. Shockingly, the guys couldn't figure out why everyone was surprised when they mentioned their wives.....

Thanks for the info Linda! I must have misread that somewhere...but that may come in handy if DH has to drop us off at the port and taxi back from the car rental :thumbsup2

OMG, that picture made me howl!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:I absolutely love it. There has to be some kind of award for them (Best Performance Art by a Duo, perhaps?) But they have to work on their hand sync :rotfl2:
