EBPC December 9, 2012!!! PART 2

Everyone is going to be scratching their heads all week now that I have brought up lice! :lmao: Jeff, your story is too funny! Thanks to those who have offered to help comb my kid's hair should I find lice. I have already highlighted your room numbers on my FE list so that I know who to call. Every year we get notices about lice going around the school and I have always told my MIL that I am stressed enough that if the kids got lice, that may just be enough to push me over the edge! She always said that she's be there to help me and since she won't be on this cruise, it's good to know I have back up! I checked the kid's hair closely this morning and so far, so good! :thumbsup2

My flight back to England is today. I suspect I will have zero time to do anything once I get there so I will wish everyone a happy cruise now. :)

Thank you for the good wishes! Travel safely, and try to find a bit of time to enjoy yourself, if possible.

Beth

IMO, bottled water tastes 'blah' - with one exception, Crystal Geyser. They are a local company that bottles water at the source, at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Olancha, CA.

I have a lice story. Years ago my daughter went on a field trip where they spent time together in cabins of some type and she picked up lice. It was my misfortune that DW Susan was on a business trip so I had to deal with them. I was washing my daughter's hair in the kitchen sink wasn't sure about something so I tried calling my mother-in-law, whose area code is 910. So I start dialing 1 + area code - 1, 9, 1...except I accidentally dialed 9-1-1. I hear the operator come on and ask what my emergency was and I hang up. Bah! Stupid lice-stupid phone-stupid me. I went back to washing but in a few minutes the doorbell rang. It was the POLICE! They told me 9-1-1 had been called from our residence and then the call was terminated. I told them it was an accident and everything was fine. They didn't believe me! My hands were wet and my shirt was wet...I think they thought I was drowning someone! They insisted on coming in the house and checking things out. I showed them that my dear daughter was still alive...no worse for wear except for the pain of combing through her long hair with that fine tooth comb. :)

I have a few lice stories myself but this one is PRICELESS :lmao:

I almost got to the point where I didn't care what the weather was on the trip, as long as it wasn't snowing when we tried to leave NJ, or pouring rain at LAX (San Francisco's airport was closed all week). Now I don't care as long as everyone's healthy by the time we leave. But, it's still exciting to hear!

We will miss you on the cruise but I know your mother will really appreciate your help. It takes time for it to heal and it is painful. You 'look' like you can get up and do things to others but you just can't. It has been over two months since I fractured my vertebra and my DS and DIL have been so gracious and amazing helping me. So, I know your mother will too. It's comforting to know we have loved ones we can count one. I wish her the best and a speedy recovery.

The weather report for 12/10 for Cabo San Lucas is a high of 83!

Speaking of weather, I added a "cruise weather" link on the Links tab of the website. It gives the forecast for 10 days ahead so it includes the forecast for PV and Cabo. Looks good as Chinook notes.

Welcome, glad we found something that interested you enough to post! I will try and print one of each today, if I can't you can have DH's Ultra and my marathon and I can print ours when we get back. I was smart enough to print extra logs as those don't waste as much ink.

If you run out of time to print, people can down load from your originals, can't they?

Thank you for thinking of us, when you must be crazy busy and bummed out besides. Hope you have a safe journey and your mum heals well and quickly!

Thank you Jeff! Obsessing over the weather is one thing I do well, especially when I need to fly.

So went out to lunch, went to grab my wallet and it was empty! Forgot I had changed everything over to my travel wallet and grabbed the wrong wallet. Looks like I will be headed to DC tonight via my house...Let's just hope this doesn't happen on Friday
Great because I forgot to request one of those along with my 1/2 cert ;)
I figured you just forgot so I went ahead and printed one for you!
These are amazing!!! Thanks Emily. If it's not too late, we'd love three full marathons. My crew took one look at the Mickey certificate and immediately announced that they can do six laps a day, no problem.

I have to tell you all that the idea came to me when I realized that my sons will need to burn off some serious (and seemingly endless) energy with all of the sea days. They are soooo happy to see all of your responses. Thank you one and all. We can't wait!
I'll try and print them, even if it means swinging by the office on the way to the aiport on Friday. Glad the boys like them.

4 pm, Thursday, December 20th (Day 12).

As of right now we're still in 7003, which may be snug, but doable with this many people. I'm hoping to upgrade so that we'll be in a bigger stateroom. I've packed a fun treat or two, so don't forget your champagne bottles (if you're drinking) and your tiaras! See you then!

All are invited if you'd like to join us. I'll be in my formalwear, but you can dress as you please. At least, I hope I'll be in my formalwear, as it may not fit by then! :rolleyes1

See you soon ladies!

So our original plan was to be at the port bright and early and look into getting an upgrade. Yes, that's right, plans have changed. Summers soccer team made it to area playoffs. If they win, they move on to sectionals. But due to the massive rain storms in Orange County last week, ( 1/2 an inch ) the girls soccer games were postponed till next weekend. Now Summer has 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. Luckily, Autumn only has 1 game on Saturday. Sunday's game times are 9:00 and 12:00 so we shouldn't have any trouble getting to port by 4:00, we just won't be there for all of the precruise festivities. It's not like they're going to run out of ice cream or anything, but it's killing us all. Last year Summer had mandatory all star tryouts and Robert was coaching, so Autumn and I took all the luggage and checked in early, then Robert and Summer met us on board later. Bottom line is, we'll find the boys on the sports deck as soon as we get there. The girls would love to be a part of the marathon. Just give us the times and we'll see what we can work in. :grouphug:

My grandson's team is inching through the playoffs. They won their first game (as a second seeded team) on Saturday. They will pay this Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately, or unfortunately as the case may be, we will be leaving him, and his mom, behind on this trip. So if his team moves forward to area or sectionals, he will be a part of it.

Will be getting up the Christmas decorations, tree, and junk this week. Got all of the FE's done and marked. Won't be packing until Saturday, but am making a list and checking it twice.

I am hoping to come as well.

Would it be too late to get 3 marathon certificates and 3 log sheets? Where would we pick them up? Think they are awesome. Woul love them for showing at school for my 2 boys and also to show my clients that I do personal training for.

We leave tomrorrow! I am stupidly excited and should be doing all the last minute bits but taking a break to catch up on Dis. We have an 11 hour flight on Wed then have a few days to adjust to an 8 hour time difference! We are travelling up to the airport after school tomrrow. I love all the last minute stuff on the last day as it means we are nearly there!:yay:

We have had great weather here in Houston. In the 80s yesterday so we had the kids and grandkids over for family dinner last night. I tried to take pics for my holiday card. Well with 7 kids 6 and under it was hilarious. The 6 month old cried, one of the two year old twins just walked away (it's ok tho, they look just alike so I can tell everyone that Nick looks just like Wes). Not sure if I got a good pic but sometimes the "misses" are better than the "hits" with holiday pics.:yay: Sherry

Abbyar, you can take me off your list - not exactly sure how I got on -unless DIMPLEs did it - yup that's it! Dimples Did it, but she's not old enough to drink and I rarely do, so let me leave space for someone who does!

I'm glad somebody does! The closer we get the more anxious I become and the more I want to stay home!:sad2: I have to keep telling myself it's going to be fine. It's going to be fine.

I think those 'misses' are the most charming kinds of photos! Have you ever seen the formal portrait after Charles and Diana's wedding - and then the "Other one" where they're all in disarray and her tiara is askew? That one is SO much better than the formal one.

So, I lugged my suitcases in to weigh them on the scales. One is really huge and hard to pick up. The scales read what I *used* to weigh. :faint: First of all, I can't believe I lost that much weight. (less than half what PirateJohn lost) and second of all, I wonder why I'm not *that* much smaller in size?

I plan on giving out the logs at the first meeting, Monday at 7:30am and for the certificates, on the last day once all logs have been aprroved!

I was able to print three more for you. Safe Travels

Since I received a very nice pokingly fun notice from Jeff, if anyone cares to bring a split of champagne, it is just as welcome as a full bottle. Sofia (we can toast to Princess Sophia the First!) also comes in single-serving cans, and is a great selection. Of course, anything we don't drink you can take back to your stateroom to share. I doubt any of us will be able to walk to dinner if we drink a full bottle of champagne each!!
