I have decided to expand and ship worldwide. Has anyone ever used M-Bags with books and what were your experiences? Also can I just use a poly mailer for clothing items going overseas? What forms of payment do you accept? Is there any ways I can protect myself from chargebacks or unhonest bidders? Any tips or advice?

Thanks for any and all help on this! Trying something new always makes me nervous LOL!

Not really advice, sorry. Just a note to say I used to do it--no more. Shipping is an additional pain with more forms, more checking on shipping charges, can't quote a ship on a heavy item to England then it's bought by somebody in Brazil. Differences take forever to work out.

But this is just one cranky person's experience. I wish you the best of luck, the poly bags for clothes should be fine and I would be hesitant on anything but paypal, just because I'm small town and no place easy to convert anything else. I can personally take all credit cards directly, but you may not be able to.

It is certainly worth a try, your luck could be much better then mine, most peoples is. :earboy2:

Had a couple more thoughts- try to get some extra customs forms to have at home, my local post office doesn't have them out, you have to get them at the window slowing things up; consider giving yourself a little padding such as a handling fee over actual shipping costs in case your scale doesn't match the post office; be prepaired for them to use a sniping service and after say how they would like it shipped- be firm on your shipping methods, anything thats takes extra time takes away profit.

once again, good luck, it can be done successfully- don't let my crankiness discourage you; it's more about other things going on now then it is eBay selling.

While I no longer ship internationaly, I would never quote an actual figure for shipping in my auctions if I opened it up to international bidders. I would just state something like "International bidders will pay for actual shipping costs - contact me in advance for information". You can then calculate shipping costs on the USPS website.

Good luck!

Definately accept Paypal only on international auctions. Some banks will charge you to cash an international money order, or not cash it at all!
