What are some hot selling items right now? I know of one - "UGG Boots".

Lululemon athletic wear is pretty popular. I thought I could save some money by buying it on ebay but that stuff is going for almost full price :earseek:

I am amazed at what changes there can be from year to year. Last year and the year before I sold some kids computer games. The first year they went for around $40. Last year they went for $50 and I was kicking myself for not buying more when I found them at a clearance sale. Now this year they are going for under $10. Wow!! I am glad I sold mine when I did!

The answer is - you can never know. You can put an item up once and get top dollar for it. Right after that auction ends you can list an identical item and get no bids. Its a very fickle market.

My best sale this week...

I was cleaning out my home office. I came across the owner's manual for the van we totaled 2 years ago (don't know why I even saved it). I listed it for $1.99. It ended today for $34.33! Pretty good for a 2000 model year vehicle, certainly not a classic by any means.

So before you throw anything away, its worth the $.35 investment to list it on ebay.

Tell me about UGG, LOL just bought 3 pairs, one 4 my DD, AND the GD'S a pair. :earseek: nana2tots:cheer2: :cheer2:

That is crazy. Good for you.
I just sold a toy for $41.78. I almost gave it to Good Will. Glad I didn't.

When I was doing Ebay full-time (between jobs a few years ago), I used to buy a lot of stuff at Goodwill to resell. You'd be surprised what some stuff can go for.

I know what you mean! I just sold my old pets.com sock puppet for over $10! I thought I might get a few bucks - who knew there was demand?

On the other hand, I thought my Entertainment Weekly mag. from the end of Seinfeld would sell. Listed it for $2. One sold the previous week for $10. Didn't sell - ARGH!

I think I am going to list just about everything as I clean out the mess in my basement. You never know...

Ebay is really weird sometimes.
Recently I sold an old Cabbage Patch Kid. She was used. I got her at a flea market for $1. She had her original clothes and shoes, but wasn't anything spectacular. The ending bid was $53!!

BUT, I decided to sell a 1980s mint in box Cabbage Patch Kid. I started the bid out at $19.99. No one bid. That doll had been in it's box for 20 years and was pristine, but no one bought her.

You just never know with eBay. All it takes is 2 people who want one particular item.

Safari perfume. It has been discontinued I can't believe what people are paying for it now on ebay.

One common mistake sellers make is starting the bidding too high. I would suggest relisting that doll but starting the bid under $10. If you aren't willing to sell below a certain price, then put a reserve price.

Auctions are very psychological. Someone may be willing to pay $100 for an item, but be unwilling to start the bidding at $20. As long as you have an item likely to attract multiple bidders, you are almost always better off starting with a low initial bid.
