I recently saw an ebay auction of the sticker "thing" placed in staterooms announcing Golden Mickeys...it was bidding at $10.00!!! I just can't believe the time and effort some people take to post an auction, monitor it, as well as package and ship the goods to the winning bidder....all that work for literally peanuts....

$10.00 for a sticker someone got free, that you take two minutes to set up (if that) and forget til you get a notice in your email that the bid was won, then put it in an envelope and mail it off.....
not much work for some pretty nice "peanuts"!!!!

We cruise again in a month, and I am thinking about mugging our poor stateroom host and stealing his entire supply of lotion, plus bringing five coolers to stuff full of luggage tags (they're duty free, right?). That way, I can afford to sneak in another cruise in May rather than having to wait until June.
I don't know about fish mail, but I still haven't figured out how to get those lamps off the nightstands without being too obvious (they're built in) and how to pry off the 5650 number from the door of "my" suite. I have a really cool Disney Cruise Line theme going in my bedroom, and my prize piece is the over-bed stateroom picture of the ship (no, I didn't swipe it, but it really freaked out some teenage girls while waiting to board the plane home...they just couldn't figure out what giant rectangular thing I had all wrapped up in bubble wrap). You'll NEVER see that on Ebay...if you do, you know Tony and I were lost somewhere at sea and my nieces and nephews have ransacked the house for saleable items.

Like I wrote, lots of work for peanuts....

It would take alot of auctions to fund a cruise this way....

about ebay fraud, ever looked up directv equipmet and seen how much a basic reciever goes for?? let alone new cards (usually 80-120 dollars, 20 new from dtv.....)

usually double what you can get it installed from DTV themselves....

I got a free system for working for them, a basic reciever and a multisat dish for my home area, I cant use it due to phone requirements for employees, im cell only, so i sat on it for a few months then decided to sell it.

this combination is 113.00 from dtv themselves installed.

I did a buy it now for 250.00 plus 35 shipping.

I added a line in the auction about do ya wanta know why ebay prices are so high on these type of auction, contact me at ..... type thing.

well i had a dealer from sandiego use the buy it now feature 7 minutes after i posted the auction....never got feedback on it tho.....wonder why. he took a 4 times actuall cost hit on it...

do i feel guilty?? no cuz i knew it would sell for that price, just suprised on the speed of which it happened. guess they didnt want my auction up to let there little money schemes out in the open.

Hey, I just sent you the PAYPAL payment for the stuffed characters.........

THANKS!

I'd have to draw the line at taking items such as the fish mail and selling it on ebay - that's pretty rotten. I agree they should be prosecuted. I sold DCL trading cards and did very well with that. Two of my kids already had complete sets so we sold off their extras and they used that money to buy their own WDW souvenirs. Worked out very well, I think. :p

Too funny, Vintage - nothing wrong with making money on other people's ignorance. They should have done some research if they wanted to save some $$.

Sidenote to Ann: I sure hope you file an Ebay complaint and fraud report on that jerk for retaliatory negative feedback. Happened to me once, too - the more people that complain about those kind of bad practices, the more pressure on Ebay to clean it up. The jerk even admitted to his own fraud in his f/b to you - what a moron!

Hi Trishy I havent' been here in a while and thanks for the nice side note, I contemplated doing a whole fraud thing with him but other issues have drained me for a while and it was just not worth it. However I wanted you to know you made me smile today-albeit a month later :)

couple mounths ago i saw a bottle opener says disey cruise line

I wonder if that was the corkscrew that you get free when you ask room service to bring you wine glasses? Heck, the room service lady even asked me if we wanted more than one, for a friend or neighbor! And if I'd only known about the tags...to think that I brought home 12 extras and gave them away for free to my son's preschool classmates (who thought they were the prize gift of the year), when I could've been making big bucks selling them...

Well if that comment was directed towards me and the corkscrews I sold, they certainly were not FREE. I paid over $70.00 for one bottle of wine and about $45.00each for the other two.
