Ebay Store?

Hi there,
Do any of you ebay sellers have an ebay store? Off hand do you know the advantages/disadvantages to having a store over just listing the normal way? I would like to get into selling more- and on the little bit I know about the ebay store- the fees are less etc. Anyway- any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had a store for nearly the last year and just recently closed it. For myself, I sell mostly clothing from the consignment shop DH & I own. We run about 150 auctions a month. However, we don't have duplicates and pretty much each item is original. We tried and tried to drum up business to our store in our auctions but didn't appear to have very much luck. We wound up paying for the stores fee's then full auction listing fee's.

With a store you pay smaller fee's for upgrades and such if you list items only as store inventory. Meaning they are not up for traditional auction. If you want to list the traditional way then they same fee's still apply.

I've been selling on Ebay for a little over a year. I sell a lot of different things. I just opened a store about 2 months ago. I like the option of throwing things in my store for 3 cents (with a gallery photo) that don't sell in my auctions.

I've not sold a lot but I don't have a lot listed but as long as I sell more than the monthly fee and some change I will keep it. It's easy $$ if you list with BIN Imed. pymt. But, I was glad I waited until before the holidays to open one as I got my free first month to test it out.

However I find that I have to have a few auctions up all of the time to get any store hits unless people know about your store, your items don't come up in the search like auction/fixed price listings do unless there are none of the item you're looking for. There's a store listings' option to check out mds on that search on the bottom of the page but it's not individually listed. (hope that makes sense).

You can cross-reference your inventory in all your listings which is a nice perk when you have lots of auctions going and items in your store.

I had an Ebay store for a short time but eventually closed it. My auctions always did much better than store items. It wasn't worth the $9.99 monthly fee plus listing charges. I created my own website instead for my business. Much cheaper in the long run.
