I am starting to sell some items on Ebay and wanted to know if anyone who has experience selling could offer suggestions to me. I have listed some DVD's but I am not sure on the shipping charges I should be charging. As I come across items I want to sell how is the best way to set the shipping charges? Do I need a scale and is there a good place to figure shipping weights/size and the costs? Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

What I do to determine shipping charges is to weigh the item on a kitchen scale and go to usps.com and calculate postage for the item from my zip code to another zip code a fair distance from me. I pick a zip code that is about half of the country away from me. That is the shipping charge I list for the item. I appreciate as a buyer knowing what the shipping charge will be ahead of time so I think my buyers would appreciate the same.

I did a quick weigh - a single dvd in the case weighs about 3 oz and a double dvd in the case weighs about 5 oz

I usually do a flat rate - $3 for DVD $2 for a single cd. This typically covers padded envelope and shipping. Everyone is happy!:goodvibes
