Sorry for asking what's probably a very obvious question but I didn't see this subject anywhere here so I thought I'd ask. :)

I'm pretty new to this whole pin trading thing, I don't want "scrappers" or anything that's not tradeable. While in the park on our last trip (day trip only at DL) I found a beach ball Clarabelle, I snagged her from a CM and liked her a lot. I looked the rest of the day for more but didn't see any. I have since found out there are 4 in that set. Now, I was curious tonight and did an eBay search for Disney Pin Trading and came across the Minnie Mouse Beach Ball that matches my Clarabelle.....on the auction it did state "with hidden mickey". Now, if I was to win that auction (auction ended 2 minutes after I searched so I didn't bid) and I was shipped that pin and it did not have the hidden mickey on it do I have recourse to get my money back?? Is that considered false information?

I've been doing some searching on pinpics.com and am finding all kinds of neat information for pins I had and traded...ones I should have kept. Live and learn I guess, but it's sort of frustrating to find out you had something cool and got rid of it....on the other hand something else I traded for (and got teased by my DBF over it) turned out to be something kind of rare!! YAY me! LOL

TIA!!!!

Obviously if the pin didn't have the Mickey on it then it would be "not as described". What you need to look for is a return policy listed on the auction. If the seller says "NO returns" then I wouldn't bid. If they will accept returns within 7 days or whatever then you can be more comfortable about bidding.

When you are looking at pin auctions there is a box to the left that says "Guides" where you can read about fakes/scrappers/counterfeits. Those beach balls aren't rare, and there are scrappers out there, so don't pay too much and make sure you will be able to tell if they send you a fake. (I know there are fakes because we got some in lots from 2 different sellers.) We did a bunch of trading at WDW in February and when we got home we really got caught up in completing our sets through eBay. Not the path I would recommend!:rotfl2:

Good luck!:)

Thanks for your reply. I'm just really leery of buying from eBay because I've heard all about the scrappers. LOL Like I said, I did trade for one because I had no idea what I was doing....I didn't even know it was supposed to have a hidden mickey and I actually traded something I had just purchased with a child in DCA. The one I gave away wasn't pricey so it wasn't a big deal for me. Of course all the "professional" pin traders freaked when they saw it on my lanyard. LOL I thought they were going to put me in "pin trading jail" or something. LOL Thanks again.
