This is what I don't understand. Why would anyone buy a GC for 100% of face value? Where's the savings?

Sometimes PayPal offers discount codes (you can find them posted on Board likes FatWallet, SlickDeals, etc.). Sometimes the codes are for flat amounts like $10 or $15. Other times they are for 10% off, etc. When these codes come out, quality GCs (like Amazon, WalMart, Target, etc) start selling for higher than face value.

A few weeks ago every deals site on the internet was filled with posts about the UnwiredBuyer service (which gives a $20 Paypal credit the first time you use it). When that happened, GCs shot up to higher than face value.

I would say that it would be a good idea to use it up as soon as you get it.
