:goodvibes Hi ... I am not sure where to post this question. I bought a pin lot on Ebay and just received it today. Its just for fun trading for the kids and I was so excited when I bought it ... however 14 of the pins do not have the disney stamp at the back. Plus there are 27 missing from the lot. What do I do ... its my first pin purchase on Ebay? I am so disappointed ... Please Help.

Holy cow- 27 missing. I would be sending that right back and asking for a full refund. I am not sure whether all pins have the Disney stamp on the back or not. Maybe someone else can answer that one.

First you need to contact the seller by email and ask about the missing 27 pins. Also, the pins need to have the word Disney on the back inorder to trade them at the parks. If the seller stated that the pins were tradeable, then you also need to address that in the email to them. If you get no acceptable answer from the seller, file a dispute with eBay; that will definately get you results. I recently had to use the Dispute process and it works great. Make sure you don't leave them feedback until you have the problem resolved.

Keep us informed!! :wave2:

Hmmmm, too bad. Try to send them back and have the seller reimburse you for shipping (both ends). This is actual fraudulent if he/she promised you a certain amount and that they were authentic Disney Pins. Internet fraud has a 20 month to 5 year sentence if convicted.

That's too bad. Sorry about your experience. I buy/sell on eBay and so far, I have had great experience with eBay. Good luck to you.

Thank You for the feedback ... this has really made me sad. I hope that its just a mistake on the sellers part. I have emailed him, before doing anything else. I have not left feedback yet, waiting for his response. I went back to the listing and it specifically states, "These pins are great for trading at the Disney parks; they all have the Disney backstamp, no Sedesma backstamp." I guess all I can do now is wait to hear from him. Wishing for the best. :goodvibes

Some older pins might not have the Disney stamp on the back, but they might have a copyright on the front. These would be fine for trading.

That's quite a few missing pins! Hopefully it was just human error on the part of the seller. Definitely contact the seller and give him a chance to make good. If he doesn't make good or if he doesn't return your e-mails, then go through eBay's dispute system.

Can you post the auction number here so some of us can check it out and see if the pins are legit?

Maybe a Dingo ate your pins.

Wow, 27 missing? I'm guessing this was not a pin lot of 25? Good luck with your transaction. Please let us know how it works out.

Jeff

Hi ... I have not heard from the seller as of yet but I will wait till Monday because he is in a different country. His Positive Feedback is: 99.1% and he has been a Member since Dec-31-98 in France. The seller has good stats, so I am really hoping that this is all one big mistake. There are some pins that are not in the list below as well. Details from the auction:

"Description
This is a mixture of pins, from the list below. The pins in the lot will depend of my stock when I send them, but will only be pins from this list.

These pins are great for trading at the Disney parks; they all have the Disney backstamp, no Sedesma backstamp.

You can check each pin on pinpics:

#11083,#10714, #11079, #11080, #11081, #11082, #11083,#2448,#24657,#18508,#1858,#33861,#38488, #38489,#23096,#2316,#10906,#3117,#3499,#26897, #12548,#39086,#39087,#39085,#8537"

I will hope that he contacts me soon. I will keep you updated.

Thank You for you help.

To be honest, this note in the description for Pinpics # 10906 --
*NOTE*
There seem to be a lot of this old pin showing up for sale and trade lately. Be careful with this pin. The ones showing up on WDW lanyards lately have a smooth back and the text is raised. The pin post is twice the length of a normal pin post. There is a small nub next to the pin post to keep the pin from spinning when worn.
-- would have concerned me.

Also, when I searched for # 33861 I get this message --
These errors were detected processing your request:

Pin 33861 was deleted because it is a duplicate of pin number 8719. Click Here to view pin number 8719.

This alone wouldn't have bothered me, but coupled with the other might have worried me enough to shy away from the auction. If the seller doesn't keep his info updated like that, it would worry me.

This aside ... all the pins I found from the list on Pinpics look tradable. The 14 you mentioned that do not have the Disney copyright ... are they among the pins listed in the description? Did you receive a #11083 that does NOT have the Disney copyright? Or are the ones without the Disney copyright the ones you mentioned that are not on the list?

If so, you might have a strong case for an item not as described complaint, especially when the seller says
but will only be pins from this list.

Hi ... Thanks for the info again. I did view the pins on pinpics. The pins that do not have Disney copyright on the back are NOT from the list he mentioned. There are many pins that are not from the sellers list. I only received a few Pin 33861 or 8719. I asked the seller if all the pins were tradeable at WDW and he did send me an email confirming that they can be traded at WDW - this was before I purchased the lot. I am going to sort out the lot according to what is on the "mentioned" list and what is not. I have not heard any response back from the seller ... should I wait till Monday or send a second email after 48 hours? I can't believe that this is happening ... I am not a regular ebay buyer ... now I am kind of scared of buying anything again. I know that sounds silly :guilty: but I am really disappointed. O.K. I got to think positive ... we are leaving on our family trip in just over 6 weeks to WDW. :)

Thanks again. :goodvibes

I would politely keep emailing the seller asking for status. Explain that you are new to eBay and really want to make this work and that you would prefer not to have to go through the dispute resolution center (I would definitely mention that so he knows you will not just walk away from this). I would also explain to him that this needs to be resolved quickly due to your upcoming trip. The last thing you want to have to be worrying about when getting ready to go is where your pins are at.
While this may seem very disappointing and frustrating, do not let it jade your outlook of eBay or the online communities. I have been taken a few times and just recently had a transaction go bad for the one pin I am desparately looking for (Piece of History #1 20,000 Leagues pin). I was took by a seller who had limited feedback but through conversations I felt comfortable enough to bid. Obviously my judgment on this person was mistaken and I'll move on. I'll still search for that pin and maybe one day I will run into it through a trade or purchase and make a new friend out of the process. My point is there are a LOT of really great people out there on-line and you should not let one person sway you into thinking otherwise.
Hopefully the seller will reply to one of your messages and make the transaction right with you. And while some of those pins might not be tradeable with cast members, they may just be ones that guests are looking for and you or your kids will be able to meet someone new and make their day by trading for a pin they have been looking high and low for. And when you are in Walt Disney World be sure to stop by the Expo Hall and see Scoop Sanderson for one of his pin talks. A few minutes with Scoop and wandering on Main Street will make all the stress and worries of a few missing pins seem inconsequential. Good luck and remember we are hear to listen or provide assistance in any way we can.

I would wait until Monday before trying to contact the seller again. In the meantime, sort out how many you have from the list and how many you don't, and check pinpics.com to see if any that are not from the list are not tradable or are Sedesma.

Even so, the seller said in the auction that the pins sent would only be from that list, but they sent you pins that were not on the list. That alone should be cause for an "item not as described" dispute. They also said the pins all have the Disney backstamp. It sounds like that was false as well. Plus, you're missing 27 pins.

If you find even only one Sedesma pin or even only one pin that will not be tradable at the parks, file an item not as described dispute.

Hi There ... I received an email from the seller today. I hope it is okay for me to post it here:

"Hello,
I apologize for the mistake, I must have miscounted them.
I will send you 40 pins. However, the 13 pins without the Disney backstamp are old EuroDisney pins, and are tradable. Since you won't be paying for the shipping, do you want other pins send with them?
Bye:)"

I must say that I am relieved. Should I just not bother about the pins he sent me that are not listed? Our family will be trading it anyway. There are many pins that are not from his mentioned list. Lots of them are old euro disney pins. One lot has " opening crew 1992", some have "kodak" and other sponsor related pins. What should I do ... I spent a lot of money on this lot but because I bought so many, it worked out to under $2 a pin. Is that worth it, with all the unmentioned pins? A little confused. I don't know what to do ... should I just let him send me the missing pins and forget about it?

Your help and advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Ok, you need to remember the first rule of scuba diving, "don't forget to breath". What you are going to find is that there will be some cast members who will look at the back of the pins and if they do not see a Disney copyright they may refuse to accept the pin in trade. There will be other cast members who will not look at the pin back at all if the pin has a Disney character or park associated with it. If you do not want to hassle with the thoughts of a pin not being accepted then you should ask the seller if you may ship the pins without the copyright back for some that do have the marking. This will of course require additional cost to you for shipping as well as introduce another potential delay as the seller waits for receipt of your shipment before sending replacement pins in their place. Only you can decide whether this is worth the effort or if you should keep the pins you have and trade them where possible. Sorry, probably not the definitive answer you were hoping for.

Email from Seller
"Hello, yes I fully understand you, and I sent them by mistake(now I've found that I've inverted 2 orders). I apologize again for this.
The pin you are talking about is one of these 2(on pinpics):
Pin 1581, Pin 133
I offer you 2 solutions:
-you can send me back the pins that you don't want,
and I will pay you the shipping, and I will refund
them, plus the missing pins.
-you can send me back the pins that you don't want,
and I will send replacement for them, plus the missing
pins.
I will send the pins as soon as you tell me what you
prefer, and by the way, do you want more , since you
won't be paying for the shipping?
Bye:)"

[I sent the seller an e mail back stating that I have a lot on my head right now and it will be best if he can send me the 40 pins that I am owed. I think this is the best and I will hope that all the pins are tradeable at Disney. I am glad the seller is keeping in contact with me but I feel that this was supposed to be something fun that turned out to a lot more of frustration. Okay, I am breathing in and out. Do you think I made the right decisions.
:goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks for the info.

Hi ... I just wanted to let you know that I received the missing pins today. The exact number of pins that were missing or did not have disney on the back were 41. I received 41 pins. Now the question is what kind of feedback do I leave ? I don't want to be mean, things did get sorted out eventually. I wish the seller would have included a little note saying sorry or just something ... maybe thats hoping for too much. I would also hope that in future when people list pins that they send just that and not a whole bunch of unlisted pins. I guess since they are just for fun and trading ... we will be happy if it all works fine at Disney ... sorry for rambling on :) :goodvibes We will be in Disney in 27 days! YAY! :cool1:

I wouldn't worry too much about a note of apology. If the seller is a power seller or if they have a full time job in addition to doing a lot of selling on eBay, they may let things like that slide due to time.

I would leave positive feedback. There was a problem with the order and the seller made good. To me, that counts a lot. The comment could read something like "pins look great, seller corrected error, great communication". That way potential buyers can see that the seller will correct mistakes and is communicative.
