Hi everyone,

I just have one quick question about ebay. I have finally dipped my toe into the waters, and bought two items on ebay. On both of the items that I bought , everything is fine and I left great feedback for the sellers. How long does it usually take for the seller to leave feedback regarding the buyer (me)? Both items were completed three days ago, since I recieved the product and left feedback (only one seller has left feedback for me). Since this is only my second item, I am not sure how long it takes, whether I should email the seller and ask about leaving feedback, etc.

You could Email the seller and tell them you are happy with your purchase and went ahead and left them pos feedback. They may have not checked their MyEbay yet to see your feedback, they may be waiting for your feedback (and you left it), they may be waiting for the weekend or they may not leave it at all.

While I always leave feedback when buying and selling not all do. I wouldn't bother asking for it as it could result in a neutral or neg  from the seller. I think there is a 30 or 60 day timeframe where you can leave feedback.

Hi JennaTX-
Glad you decided to take the plunge and give eBay a try!

As a seller I usually wait to make sure the item arrived & the sale is completed (meaning the buyer is happy with the widget they bought) before leaving feedback. I know it got there safely either by them emailing me or by them leaving FB for me.

Some sellers leave FB in batches, others do it one by one. It seems to be the consensus on the eBay discussion boards that FB shouldn't have to be asked for, some people get testy about it. I've not been asked for any in a long time, some sellers get bugged about it alot and will, unfortunately, leave you an unearned neu or neg FB if you ask them to leave you something. Their mantra is "Be careful what you ask for!".

I'd send a friendly email to let the seller know: 1-the product arrived, 2-the product met your expectations, 3-you've already left them FB. I wouldn't ask for your own, but it is a nice way to let them know you're all set.

BTW-as long as you have the item number, you can leave FB for an undetermined amount of time now. It used to be 90 days, but that time limit has been extended, just not sure how long it can go.

GL! :)
