Ebay problems

Do not close the case. Inform them that you have contacted Ebay customer service about this transaction and the case will be closed once you receive the refund.

I just got this message through eBay:Dear my friend,
thanks for your reply, and could you pls close the case for us first, cause it makes a bad effect on us ,and it takes long time to arrive. in that case, we'd like to refund for you, is it ok for you?
waiting for your reply
good day
kind regards

This was after replying that I would be happy to close the case when I receive the Mickey Cookie Cutter.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the seller saying "it makes a bad effect on us" is a policy violation on the part of the seller. You could call ebay, but good luck getting a CSR in the US that would understand that this is a policy violation.

I have escalated the claim with Paypal.

I sent a photo of the cookie cutter that was not molded correctly to prove it wasn't usable before involving Paypal. Then in a message back to me they wrote that it must have been damaged during shipping. Not possible since I would see a piece in the packaging and the cookie cutter would be sharp not smooth.

Paypal concluded their investigation and sided with me so I get my $ back. That was fast! It said it could take up to 30 days for a decision. I can still leave feedback, any idea on what I should say?

Thank you everyone for your help. I'll let you know how it goes with the Stitch costume.

Is there a way for me to block or mark these two sellers so I don't accidently purchase from them again?

I agree with the pp about not bidding on items from China and Hong Kong as well. In my experience the prices are cheap because the items are low quality, sometimes even counterfeit. When you search on ebay, you can filter by where the items are located.

Now I get a message that they would like to send me a complimentary set of cookie cutters, if I would please leave them positive feedback once they arrive. Boy did they make this so much harder than it should have been.

I will wait and see if they show up, if not at least I didn't pay for them! Is there a cut off time for leaving feedback?

30 or 45 days to leave feedback. I would leave negative if the new set does not arrive within 2 weeks or so. Just say "had to settle claim with ebay, seller unwilling to refund broken item." Leave neutral, if the new set arrives saying "replaced only after opening a claim." Nothing about the transaction went smoothly, so there's no reason to leave positive feedback. Now if they responded in a timely manner and issued a refund on their own, that would still be positive feedback.

I know you can block buyers as a seller, but I don't think you can do it the other way around. There's still plenty of good sellers on ebay, just pay attention to shipping location and feedback ratings, and don't let a seller coerce you with feedback scores, it's against policy.

I did go a little crazy buying, but I'm happy with everything I have purchased and received so far (except the two in this post). I bought a bunch of little flatbacks and beads for my daycare. We are going to make eye-spy bottles and necklaces.

I have received about 34 things and only 2 I had a problem with.

NO! Do NOT mention 'claim' in feedback. That is a policy violation and if the seller reports you they can have that feedback removed.

I am in complete agreement with this! If it were me, that is what I would do!!

Is it safe to say Paypal refunded the money? Or Paypal resolved the issue? I don't want my feedback removed, I want to let others know how hard it was to communicate and get this resolved.

No don't bring up the refund or that paypal had to resolve the problem.

Just stick to item not as described/deformed not as pictured. Seller difficult to communicate with. You can say seller unable to resolve issue.

Just don't get into having to get ebay/paypal involved.

Yes I know some bidders have left feedback about having to make claims but it's against policy and a smart seller would've gotten them removed easily.

Perhaps this for feedback- " item not as described, difficulty getting refund." Simple response and to the point.

Thanks so much for all your help!

I will give them some time to see if the cookie cutters show up, if they do I will leave neutral feedback.

We bought a security system last year with cameras and when we purchased it didn't realize it was coming from china..had problems with it and they kept giving us the run around took forever to answer us and ended up never taking care of the issue..I would never purchase anything coming from china again..

You can block bidders because otherwise you have no control over who bids on the items you are selling.

On the other hand you have full control over not bidding on new items from the same sellers you did not like. Just write their eBay IDs down on the back of an envelope (or into a Notepad or Wordperfect etc. file).

Listings should state the location of the item. If the item actually comes from a different place and is defective, I think you should not have to send it back to that different more distant place to get a refund. That part (probably not the OP's situation) should be argued with eBay if a claim ends up having to be made. Then, if the seller does not give an address in the place named in the listing you should be able to keep the item and still get a refund frm eBay/PayPal.

I got an e-mail (not through eBay) from the Stitch Pajama seller. They would like me to keep the pajamas and refund me partial payment.

Sounds fair to me, but I know you said not to communicate through e-mail. Should I reply through eBay message?

I would absolutely only deal with wan messages.

I messaged through eBay that I would like to settle the matter of the Stitch Pajamas. Now they want to know what would be a fair amount. I'm not good at this kind of thing.

Any ideas?
