EBay Help please! Someone changed my ID!

I was checking my junkmail folder and saw an email from EBay that said my ID Name had been changed. So I went to EBay and checked and it really had been changed!

I've changed my passwords for my ebay account (it wouldn't let me change the userID back for 30 days), my email and my Paypal account, but I'm really nervous!

Good thing I check email so early as according to EBay this happened at 3:30 this am.

Are my accounts protected? or what do I do to make sure they are protected? I'm nervous because my ebay is linked to my paypal and that is linked to my checking accounts!

I wrote ebay but it said a response could take 24-48 hours.

Anything else I can/should be doing?

I would go on E-bay and go to live help and also pay pal and go to live help and a rep will get right back to you. My account was compromised also and they helped me right away

Do a search and make sure you don't have anything listed or bidding on at this time.
You might have caught it early enough.Also change your password again 12 hrs out just to be sure.''

Also I know you sent e-bay an E-mail but was that to Fraud prevention you might want to do the same to Pay-Pal and explain the situation just so they have it on record.

Before they will talk to you, they will tell you to change your password on your e-mail address. That is the first and foremost thing to do NOW.

If it was in your junkmail, is it possible it was a spoof? All the paypal/Ebay junk I get goes in there.

Did you follow the link through email, or did you close out the email and go to your account by yourself? If you went to your account, how did you know what it had been changed to, did they tell you in the email? I don't know why someone would change your account name, it doesn't make sense, it doesn't get them anywhere and the only way they could have done it was with your password, unless you received a phishing email and you gave them your info.

I must get 4-5 of those a day. I used to send them to E Bay to verify the message but they all were spoofs.

Never click on a link. Sign into your Ebay account and see if there is a problem.
