ebay failure to pay question

Has she replied to your e-mails??? Did you check the auction to see if she completed the check-out???

Nope-no reply to my emails and no reply to Ebay's emails...I filed my info I believe on the 10th...So, I should close everything on the 18th and send a 2nd chance auction to the next highest bidder right?

I would go in and change the 72 hour for your next transaction. Some people use the max bid option (ebay proxy) incase they will be out on vacation. They may not return till a couple of days after it ends.

If I go to the mountains for a long weekend (thur-sun), depending on when the auction ended, I too would be unable to pay within this short amount of time.

Yeah I plan changing that 72 hour thing before me next auction.
I just recieved payment for the item that was originally not paid for-Of course the winner paid first and then answered the dispute (go figure)...however, I made sure in my reply to state that I recieved it on 1/13. Do people really think that things aren't dated and time stamped???
Thanks for all your help!

Glad your item got paid for. I would be careful leaving negative feedback because she may leave neg for you as retaliation, and ruin your feedback score.

Also if you have PAYPAL only auctions, then the 72 hour deadline may not be so bad, but if it is a M/O and check auction then 72 hours for payment is unreasonable. JMHO. Good luck with your Ebaying!!! :)

Yeah its a paypal only account...maybe thats why BF made it a 72 hour deal...I changed it for the one that I have up now...but might change it back-dont know we will see.
Anyway...I wont leave feedback until she leaves feedback....that way I can be the one that retaliates if needed (ok so maybe thats a low blow-but I have 100% feedback and I'm not going to let someone that takes longer then allowed -even by ebay standards-to ruin that)
Here is the run down...
She won the auction...
I sent invoice following morning (I was asleep when the auciton closed)
I waited 72 hours and sent a 2nd invoice
I waited 8 days with no payment and filed dispute
It took her 2-3 days to hear from her.
She paid via pay pal first the wrote in the dispute that she sent the payment.
I replied with that I hadnt recieved anything either via email or in my paypal account and suggested that maybe it was just the technology.
I then closed the dispute and wrote that I recieved payment on 1/13/2006...
Its all documented and in the dispute.
I sent her items out the next day and emailed her the tracking number (even tho I didnt add it to my shipping fees -it was to MY benefit to spend the 60 cents for the number)
Havent heard from her since.
So, did I get this right for the most part?
I hope so...its all documented
thanks for your help guru

Sounds like you did everything perfectly. As far as the 72 hour thing, if it is a paypal only auction, then that is more than ample time for the item to be paid for unless the buyer notifies you in advance to let you know there may be a problem paying within that time frame, then it is totally up to you to accept that or ask them not to bid on your item. As far as your buyer is concerned, you should leave her appropriate feedback. Maybe not a negative, but maybe a neutral to let everyone she paid only after dispute filed, but that is up to you. She has no reason to leave you neg or neutral feedback, because all you did was ask for payment, then after you receieved it you sent out the item as promised. Anyway, good luck with all your future ebaying!!
