Ebates 20% back for Orbitz tickets

Thanks..... I will do that. But does Disney give credit for the 3 day ticket or the 5 day ticket?

The 3+2 ticket is just a marketing thing - it's really a 5 day ticket. So once you use it once, you'll get the value of a 5 day.

Today (2/18/14), Ebates is offering 20% back on Orbitz Activity reservations. WDW tickets are considered an Activity Reservation. This is an awesome deal! And YES, you can link your Orbitz tickets to MDE so you can select FP+ ahead of time. You won't be able to link the tickets for about a week and you will have to have a CM do it but the money you save is worth the extra phone call!
Here is my dilemma. We are going in August. Probably 8-3 to 8-10 or so. I know I don't want to buy tickets for the whole time. I am wanting to stay on property and get the DDP also for Disney world. I have me and my two kids ages 11 & 15. I was going to do my taxes to pay for my trip but now would like to buy the tix in advance and save a little. I am about $50 short of getting enough to buy tickets for the 3 of us 5 days. Hmmmm what should I do. wait till I have the funds (I don't have any cc's) If I could pay with 2 cards then I would be good because between my 2 accounts I would have enough. #frustated trying to figure out how I can get around this. :worried:

I would like to purchase the Orbitz deal for a 3dayG2 ticket for my grandson, age 12, who will be traveling with DH and myself in August. We both have AP's so I only need the one ticket. My question is should I put my name as the redeemer or my grandson's since it is his name will be attached to the ticket/Magic Band. We already have a profile set up on MDE for DH and myself since we were there in January. We have our grandson set up on the MDE as a family member but nothing in his profile yet.

Can you buy two tickets with one account, then one with another account? Or even just buy one ticket with one account and one with the other, if that's all you can do. At least then you'd get the savings on a couple of the tickets. There's no reason you have to buy them all at the same time or from the same place!

Ahhhhhh haaaa you are very smart. I knew if I asked here someone would have an answer for me. Thank you!!!!:)

I would put your name and your grandsons goes in the space where they ask if the ticket is for a child. See below from the check out page on orbitz.

Can someone help me understand about this "rebate website"? From my understanding (and please correct me if I am wrong):

1. Tickets or vouchers have to be purchased using Orbitz. In my case, I want to get the B4G1 at Disneyland ($285 for adults, and $265 for kids).

2. Once purchased, how does this translate to a 20% rebate? What do I need to do to start the rebate process? Is the rebate with urlhasbeenblocked dot com? (PLEASE HELP HERE)

3. Also, I understand that to convert my tickets to an Annual Pass, I have to use 1 day. My question is, do I have an option to use ALL days and then convert it to an AP on my very last day? Or does the conversion to AP have to happen on Day 1 of use?

4. Lastly, I hope my math is correct here.

Regular 5 Day Hopper Price at Disneyland - $300
Orbitz B4G1 Hopper Price
- $285 x 4 adults = $1,140
- $265 x 2 kids = $530
Total Orbitz Price before rebate = $1,670
Minus 20% Rebate = $334
Total Cost after Rebate: $1670 - $334 = $1,336

To upgrade to $359 Annual Pass
$359 x 6 = $2,154
Using the $300 value of my 6 tickets = $1,800
Difference between AP Cost for 6 and the value of 6 ($300 tickets) = $2,154 - $1,800 = $354

Therefore, I should only pay another $354 at Disneyland to upgrade this to an AP????

So in the long run:
Annual Pass Cost for 6 = $2,154
Orbitz after rebate price $1,336 + $354 upgrade = $1,690

Overall savings from Original AP Cost minus after rebate and upgrade price:
$2,154 - $1,690 = $464 savings....IS THAT RIGHT??

I hope so...

Thanks!!!

You must first go to ebates.com and create an account. Then, from the ebates web-site (after you are logged in), click on their link to Orbitz. Then proceed to buy the tickets as usual. Orbitz somehow communicates to ebates that you bought the tickets through their link, so ebates then gives you the 20% kickback. You won't get it right away, though. They issue checks every few months.

I glanced through the thread and didn't see this question answered, but I could have missed it...
We have a trip planned for the April 3-12, but I am paranoid to buy tix in case something happens and we can't make the trip. Can I put two people on the ticket at "redeemers"? My mom is about an hour outside of Orlando, and if for some reason we have to postpone our trip, she could at least pick up the tickets so we can use them later. Does this make sense? Am I right in assuming that as long as you don't go into a park, the tickets won't be activated and can be used later (not just on the voucher dates)??

You can just enter your own name for the pick up. There is no need to enter additional names. The ticket(s) that you pick up will not have names printed on them. They will only be attached to a name if you link them thru MDE ahead of time. Even then, you can always transfer any unused tickets to another name within your Friends & Family if you need to.

I have a friend who is down at Disney until Wednesday. If I buy now can she pick up the tickets for me?

You can designate pick up by another person. Just put their name when you are in the process of checking out.

The only problem, as I see it, is that you cannot order tickets for dates earlier than next Fri. if you were to order them today. Orbitz probably needs this much time in order to process the ticket order and transmit the information to Disney.

Now that I know I can bridge these tickets I am curious about something else. I think we will upgrade to an AP at gate. does Disney give the before tax price per ticket? So if I paid 300 after tax will they give the full $300 towards the pass or the before tax price?
Looks like buying a 7 day no expiration ticket through ebates is the way to go then. Why are some saying ap is $669? Am I missing something?

Furthermore, I don't even see Disney selling no expiration tickets anymore. So is this honored on a new ticket purchase? I am worried I will buy this tecket at a $623 price and get to Disney to upgrade and they say I can't. This way I would esentially only owe another $25 per ticket to upgrade.

Has anyone called Orbitz yet to ask what happens when you don't bring your voucher and exchange for tickets in the month assigned to you? For example, if you choose to pick up in July 2014, but instead pick it up in Jan 2015?

As long as you use the ticket at least once, Disney will give you credit for the full gate price of whatever ticket you purchase. You would only need to pay the difference between the gate price and the AP, regardless of how much you pay for the ticket. If you go to the theme park board, there is a ticket sticky that talks all about "price bridging."

I just called orbitz to ask about this. They told me that the dates I entered are the dates I have to use the ticket unless I upgrade the ticket to no expiration option. This is contrary to my understanding of the deal. Either the person I talked to didn't know what they were talking about - and I explained it carefully I will be needing to add the no expire option. Because I do not need tix for this trip. My DH and I have APs right now and I have already linked tix I bought from UT for my daughters months ago. UGH!

Your answer sounds like what I would expect a low level CSR to say. But I'm not quite sure I trust that answer. Has anyone actually missed their voucher redemption dates and attempted to redeem them much later?

I am planning to redeem the voucher on the dates I entered. BUT I dot want to activate the tickets then. I want to save the tickets for my next trip in December. I thought I was being smart picking them up ahead of time, I didn't think that would mean the actual tickets would be activated when I redeem the voucher. My understanding was that I would be handed MYW tickets that I could use any time.

We just ordered our tickets!!!! Thanks for posting this information, I appreciate the savings!!!!!!
