Oh that is right. You do get those "freebies." You also get a lithograph, at least we did for Cat. 1. Free sodas and water - that was a good one. I do like entertaining and that is fun to do when you have a suite (Carl, you are getting all these hints aren't you??:rotfl: ). We did a little DIS board meet when we were in Cat. 1 and that was a lot of fun, although it wasn't a big DISer cruise. I also liked being the meeting place for my family that was traveling with us. If you have in-laws or parents coming on the cruise as well, it is great way to have them hang with the kids as you go Rockin Bar or take a stroll and since it has a living room, you don't have to tidy up your cabin! Man....all this talk is sure getting me going. I wonder how much those Cat. 1 & 2s are on this cruise??

On the flip side, having two connecting rooms is very much like having a suite as far as space goes. And any extra money can be spent towards photos and rum!
Lisa

it depends on the bribes?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: pirate:

Does anyone have an idea of what a "full" ship looks like on these Transatlantic cruises. I read somewhere on DIS ... because of the long time at sea and away for restocking, the ship can only hold so much supplies and they cannot sail will all the cabins full.

Thats really interesting I never even thought about that.
I found a trip report from the last east bound crossing and have started to read it, has any of you guys done it before?

The conference turned out to take more of my time than I would have liked, most likely the first part b/c I get a bit focused before doing a talk. So we ate at Shula's, right in the restaurant. It was overpriced, but we enjoyed the food. We did make it to your recommendation the next day - Portillo's Hot Dogs! That place was great. Great hot dog, onion rings, and great atmosphere. We couldn't make it out for breakfast.

Did you get your flight situation worked out to fly the night before?
Lisa

No change on the flight situation. The Travel Agent is still fighting with DCL. I need to check in with her later this week.

(I have to stay away from Portillo's! My waistline doesn't like it. But the food is soooo good.)

Has anyone else had trouble getting on our website? Not sure if it is my computer, but it gives me an error...:confused3

It seems to be working now. Are you still having trouble?

DD and I were away all weekend for a dance competition. Her studio did very well and <warning...mom brag coming> DD (along with a few others from her studio) was chosen to be one of the assistants on the competition company's national tour this summer. She'll get to go to several cities and assist the choreographers on stage by demonstrating the routines being taught. She is very excited about it!

Other than that there's not much new around here.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

That's great! Brag away. :)

Good morning all.
I am home from work today, due to my DD having the stomach bug. UGH! There is nothing better than waking up at 3am to a 4 year old child spewing all over the place.

Thankfully we made it past Halloween before she got sick!

Have a great day everyone:)

I'm sorry to hear that. That is not fun at all. Every time we have moved into a new house one of kids seems to have to mark their teritory so to speak. It's like clockwork. :sad2:

I hope you don't end up with it!:goodvibes

Oh what a shame, I hope she is feeling better now.
Thank you, yes, she is feeling a little better now, although it has just shifted from which end it wants to come out of:laughing:

Sounds great :thumbsup2 Will you travel with her, or is she going solo. Remind me how old is she? Sorry my memory is bad, but once I get it locked it will stay :rolleyes1

My proud mama moment...Wilson took 1st place at his go kart race on Saturday, with this win he moved from 3rd to 2nd place in the overall standings. We are very proud of his hard work this season

Here is a picture of him at the track for you who haven't seen him in the kart

Way cool!

Hello! We just booked this cruise, as well. I was thinking we would be near the beginning of this thread, but I feel like I'm joining late! Oh, well. It'll be us and the in-laws, with connecting rooms. We'll see how well that works out, or if I need to make friends with someone on another deck. There will be me (Staci, 32), DH Rory (34), Anna (5, almost 6), and Rory's parents Rory and Jay (no ages offered, for fear of bad things in those connecting rooms!!). We are very much looking forward to this, although DH is horrified that a) I'm already doing my research, and b) I'm obviously not the only one who immediately went to the DIS board! He says he doesn't like my planning, but I left him and his parents alone for 40 minutes on our cruise last week, and they all informed me they were incapable of amusing themselves for that long, that I was the leader and in charge of the schedule. 40 minutes, in the period of a 7 day cruise, and they were left with no idea what to do. And this was on Halloween, when they could just wander the boat and see the great decorations! I still don't know what they did, I found them 30 minutes later in the same spot I left them. LOL.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a year and a half of getting to know everyone! I see that I won't be allowed any sick days from the board, or it'll take me days to catch up, so I'll be reading daily.

Staci

You didn't tell them that 40 minutes of doing nothing on a cruise is a WONDERFUL thing!!!

No, I will not travel with her. She will be 17 by then and is very responsible. They will also have 2 chaperons in charge of the assistants. It's an amazing opportunity for her and she can't wait!

And yay Wilson! He is so cute in the picture!

Hi Staci
We just booked a few days ago after getting the disney blues being back in scotland for 5 days post disney magic!
You plan till your hearts content! I plan on my night shift week at work when it is quiet. I felt like I was joing late as well but i joined late into the thread for last cruise and it was great.
