Eating the 2nd time?

Just wondering if anyone has had the experience of loving a resturant, and then the 2nd time, something missing?

Maybe I build it up in my mind and then it appears to be lacking somewhere? Or is it that they really change that much over a year or so? I know each experience is different, even here on the dis one person will have a fantastic meal / service somewhere and then a flock of others are the exact opposite. Although we have even found this on the same trip. Think what a fantastic meal then decide to go again, and what where we thinking?

Yes...frequently it has to do with the server.

We've had places that we've loved, done a second time and had it be "just so-so," and gone back a third time (the things we do for our kids) and had the third round be great.

However, overall we found the service to be much improved on our recent trip to WDW. It seemed to be slipping over the years, and was so much better that even my DD commented on it.

Yes - we stayed at the Poly 20 years ago, and I had the Tonga Toast and loved it. Every trip since then I have wanted to go back and have it again. I finally had that opportunity last summer, and did not like it at all. But this summer we're going back to Kona Cafe and I'm going to try something different. Hopefully it won't be as disappointing this time.

Ours was O'hanas. It was perfect and exciting the first time - great waiter, great seats - fab food! The second time - so-so food, so-so waiter, lousy seats - new menu, ewe! Go figure!

'Ohana. The first time I really liked it and the second time it was just ok. I haven't been since they changed the menu.
