I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on any restaurants OUTSIDE of Disney, but still close by? We are driving down so we will have a car, and I am wondering if there are local restaurants, chain places or otherwise, or any diners, that are close by and reasonably priced for dinner. Thank you all!!

Oh yeah, I rear somewhere about a local mall that has a few places in it, but I can't remember the name?? :confused3 Anybody been there or know about it?? Thank you:cheer2:

We have every chain you can possibly name out here around Disney World!Just drive up and down 192 and you'll find whatever your heart desires.

Myself, I would recommend coming over here to Celebration, where we have places like Market Street Cafe (comfort food), Columbia (Cuban), and many other options. The Mona Lisa hotel here has a brand new restaurant that people are speaking highly of, although I haven't tried it yet myself.

If you venture out to Sand Lake Road (take 535 over to Sand Lake), Too Jays is an awesome Jewish deli type place, the Melting Pot has the best fondue, and Seasons 52 is a great Darden concept restaurant, plus there are tons of other restaurants out on that strip. If you like authentic Indian, go to the K-mart strip mall at Sand Lake and Turkey Lake. Best ever!

We've eaten at Uno's before and love Buffalo Wild Wings. Both can be found at The Crossroads right outside of DTD.

Like inkkognito said, there is every single chain of restaurant out on Highway 192. Just take World Drive and get off. Take your pick of east or west and you'll find something.

I know east of I4 is Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday's, Pizzeria Uno, Macaroni Grill, Chili's and Lonestar. There also is Logan's Steakhouse which is pretty good at the intersection of Highway 192 and International Drive South (peanut shells on the floor type of place).

We always like to eat pizza at Giordano's (yumo)....there are two locations near WDW.

Here's their web-site:

I would suggest going over to Celebration, it is extremely pleasent and the food quality at restaurants over there is outstanding.

Logan's...mmmmmmmmmmm! That place is a huge favorite with the locals. Great steak at decent prices, and they have the best baked sweet potatoes.

:thumbsup2 thank you everyone for all the great ideas, and for that yummy pizza picture. I am getting a lot of great ideas and I'm actually looking forward to dinners outside of the world!!
Anyone know of a good diner?? My girls love to have breakfast for dinner:lovestruc

Market Street Cafe in Celebration serves breakfast all day. If you don't mind traveling farther, Mimi's on Osceola Parkway and John Young Parkway has wonderful breakfasts all day long. Of course, there are plenty of chains that do too like Denny's, Cracker Barrel, Perkins, Waffle House and IHOP.

Market Street Cafe in Celebration is AWESOME!
Pizza Uno, Chevy's (Mexican), and Buffalo Wild Wings all across from DTD
Cracker Barrel on 192
Mimi's at Osceola and John Young

Heres another vote for MIMI'S. Love the all day breakfast!

Bob Evans is to the east of I4 as well. There's also Shoney's and Denny's somewhere and an IHOP to the west of I4.

I forgot to mention this before but there's a good buffet place right across from Old Town. It's called Sizillin' Grill and in the same strip mallish place as Pacino's. $10.99 dinner, $7.99 lunch and $2.99 breakfast (lower for kids). Good food, hardly every really that crowded and excellent service.

There are more places than you can count on 192 - also Alehouse is a favorite on 535

There is a Golden Corral right down the road from DTD. There is also a Chick-fil-A (fast food chain that serves GREAT chicken sandwhiches).

I never thought to ask for opinions on local restaurants!:confused3  I have now put Logan's on the radar! Thanks Everyone! :goodvibes

We really enjoyed our dinner at Bahama Breeze. It's a chain, but not one that we have around where I live - so it felt like vacation to me.

The meal was very good, and quite reasonably priced (since we were already used to Disney pricing)

My DH is a manager for Chick-fil-A in the Pittsburgh area.

I don't know how to get there, but from my stay at AKV we could see the Cracker Barrel from our balcony.

Nothing like seeing giraffes and other African animals with a Cracker Barrel in the background :rotfl:

Come out of Animal Kingdom Lodge like you were going to the rest of the park. Turn right at the first light, that will be Sherberth. Then turn right at the first light again, that will be 192. The Cracker Barrel will be on your left just a few blocks down.

Same directions will take you to Chik-Fil-A. When you turn onto 192, the Chik-Fil-A will be on your right, next to a 7 11.
