Alright, I've never posted a review before, but I'm here through Monday and doing the Princess half marathon so I'll give it a whirl! I'm here with 2 small minions and my mother will be joining tomorrow.

Today, Wednesday, we arrived around 7:30 from our lovely relaxing red eye. We are staying in a Ft Wilderness cabin and we're able to check in early! Yay! Prior to napping we needed to eat so went down to Trails End. We were seated pretty quickly. Love that the playground is next door! Our server was nice but trying too hard and referred to "the mouse" several times. My 5 year old asked me if there really was a mouse in the kitchen! Our table was unfortunately close to the folks on either side and so I heard too much about a millennial's love life for comfort! Ok so I think I might have been grumpy from only sleeping 45 min the night before, but I was underwhelmed. The rustic decor just felt dirty to me. The way the buffet is set up is cramped and unclear if you can jump ahead vs wait. My kids ate 4 Mickey waffles and put mini chocolate chips from the yogurt parfait bar on them. There was a praline sauce for the waffles that looked good. The deep fried tater tots were yum and the veggie frittata and cheese grits were surprisingly tasty. I really wanted eggs Benedict but it looked so dried out I couldn't even try. No pictures as it wasn't photogenic food.

For dinner we went to Disney Springs. I've never had poutine but read about it in food magazines and seen it on TV shows. So we had to get one to share. The first 2 bites I regretted the $, then once I got over the fact that the cheese curds were squeaky not melty and that it's a salt bomb, I liked it!
After that we went to Blaze and got 2 boring pizzas (I let the kids pick), one pepperoni, one mushroom olive. We brought home slices so could have fed a fourth person. Pizza was good but typical for the genre of quick made to order thin pizzas. They are pretty scanty with the cheese.

Tomorrow we have BOG for dinner. Eating breakfast in the cabin with the groceries I ordered and packing in lunch!

For dinner we went to BOG. I loved the setting! We were in the ballroom which was a bit loud but didn't feel cramped. I ordered the shrimp and scallops which was over pasta (the menu didn't say it was which I found odd). I thought it was good. A bit salty but generous portion and lots of good quality shrimp and a 2.5 in piece of lobster! The kids had the seafood of the day which was shrimp and mac n cheese. Both had a good piece of broccoli which was cooked correctly and not the typical gross previously frozen kind. Kids had chocolate cupcakes for dessert. They were good but might be hard for one person to finish solo, I helped the kids . My daughter ran and hid when it was time to meet the beast. So it was time to go. I actually thought this meal was a decent value as it wasn't much more than our Trails End breakfast but I thought much better. My kids liked the breakfast buffet better, go figure...

My pictures are out of order but should be self explanatory. Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom with dinner at Yak and Yeti.

Lol! Cheese curds are squeaky!!! That made me laugh super hard. Poutine is one of those dishes that kinda have to be eaten all together. Like, you gotta get the fry, gravy and some cheese curd all in one bite.

Real time review failed due to the busyness that is Disney!
Day 3: Animal Kingdom. No pictures, sorry! We ate breakfast in our room and packed in a light lunch and snacks. Our groceries were delivered from Publix via Instacart and that went pretty smoothly. For dinner we ate at Yak and Yeti. There were 3 adults and 3 kids. We just ordered shareable plates and sides which worked well. The best item was the lettuce wraps, very flavorful! Fried string beans were good. Chicken fried rice was just right. The rice in the dragon roll was over handled so mushy and the crab was imitation which is surprising given the price. The dim sum basket was mostly eaten by the kids and the one piece I had was mushy and not that flavorful. The garlic noodle side was pretty good and made a nice filler. Tomorrow is Epcot.

Day 4 Epcot: We LOVED Club Cool. My mom was the only person in the whole place who liked the Beverly and drank the whole cup. It was so fun to try all the flavors. We ate our lunch we brought. In the evening we headed to the world showcase. Two adults and 2 kids shared an order of fish and chips in England, a chicken teriyaki plate from the quick service grill in Japan and two pastries from the bakery in Norway. The fish and chips was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was a very generous portion of chicken but it seemed steamed not grilled like most teriyaki I've had. The salad on the plate got all wilty from being next to the hot rice. We got a trolls horn and a chocolate Viking helmet pastry both of which were excellent. The world showcase was crowded enough that it was hard to maneuver. Next time I'd go there first before everyone started drinking round the world . Sorry no pictures!

IMG_2364.JPG Day 5: After a 3 am wake up and 13.2 miles of running we took a rest day. At the main pool at Fort Wilderness we ate chips and cheese and a pulled pork coleslaw hot dog. The pulled pork had good flavor and texture. It made for a great hot dog. For dinner we got the "giddy up and go" from the take our counter next to Trails End. This was a great value- 8 pieces of fried chicken, 2 sides and 6 pieces of corn bread for $24. We ate it at our cabin with a salad and the four of us could not finish it. The chicken was juicy and tender with just the right amount of breading. The mac and cheese was typical and the mashed potatoes were a bit gluey. The corn bread was dense and sweet, I liked it. I do have a picture! That night we went to the Chip and Dale campfire and ate s'mores. Yum!

Our last day we went to Hollywood Studios. We had lunch at the Sci Fi drive in. The ambience was great. I loved how quiet it is in there since most folks are staring at the screen! We ordered two burgers and milkshakes to share. The milkshake had a good flavor but they didn't bring spoons and it was pretty solid to start with. A bit chunky. The fries were fresh and crisp. The burger was good but smaller than I thought it would be and I couldn't taste or see the mushrooms. The bacon was that see through bacon Disney must order in bulk. I really enjoyed eating here as it felt restful. The bathroom is shared with the restaurant next door and was quite crowded though.

Goodbye Disney world, hope to be back in a few years!
