Eating In Room/Condo

We do a lot of cooking in our unit too. We have eggs and bagels for breakfast almost every day. We have fruit sandwich type things and other snacks for late lunches. Then we do almost every dinner in the room too.

If we have things planned for the evening, we'll just throw in a frozen pizza or something. If we are spending the afternoon/evening in the room, we enjoy getting BBQ fixings and doing steaks on the grill and eating outside.

That's one thing that makes DVC great - different strokes for different folks. I couldn't imagine spending as much money on food as people who eat out all the time at Disney.

By the way, we always rent a car, so getting to the grocery store isn't an issue. It's just one of those things that needs to be done when we arrive. If we arrive in early afternoon, we shop while waiting for our room to be ready. We also bring some "staples" such as salt/pepper/seasoning salt/garlic powder/coffee filters with us so that we don't have to buy them there.

Breakfast is in the room -- usually fruit and cereal. Sometimes we will eat a lunch or dinner in (but usually because we are eating take-out or left overs). I don't think we ever cooked a full dinner in the villa.

We go to the Publix on SR192 and buy breakfast and snack foods. We do not do lunch or dinner in the unit. But, we are also 2 adults, no children.

As you can see there are several grocery stores close by to pick from, so if you have a car I deffinatly would not have groceries delivered, way overpriced. Besides I would not want someone else picking out my fruit, vegies, fresh meats etc. We usually get in early, check in to room unpack get lunch and groceries then hang out at pool until it's time to go out for dinner usually at Epcot the first night. Part of whats nice about being a DVC'r is not having to rush around whatever you don't get to this time you'll see next trip, or the one after that, etc, etc, etc. HH in 3weeks....

We always have a rental car and make a food stop at Publix behind the Premium Outlet Malls. We shop for breakfast, lunch, snack items, and beverages. I prefer to eat dinner out. It's so convenient to grab breakfast - and if you want to take an afternoon break to grab some lunch. That's one of the perks IMHO of staying at a villa. Oh- and I also grab a bottle of Woolite that I use to wash clothes in the washer/dryer. We like to pack lite and also come home with clean clothes.

Although certainly not the cheapest grocery store, I find it to be the easiest to get to: Goodings. It's right across the street from Disney's Marketplace (downtown Disney).

We do the same. Very convenient but can be a bit pricy. But I figure I'm on vacation and it's not like I shop there all year round.

We have used Wegoshop in the past...

The order form is a little more free form, and Marge does pretty good with our lists...
