Eating in castaway cay

really???? I didn't think it would be! I'm thrilled! I keep finding out more and more good things!

The food was good, typical barbecue stuff. You will see some of the dining room servers working on CC too, serving lunch.

I don't know where to find a menu, but the foods I remember are hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken sandwiches, potato salad, watermelon, soda, and I think there are lobster burger sandwiches too, maybe only over at the adult beach.

I think the only food/beverage not included while on Castaway Cay are alcoholic drinks.

EDITED TO ADD:

I just found the activities sheet from our CC day last year, and here is what it lists: COOKIES BBQ 11:30am - 2:00pm "Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, BBQ ribs, lobster burgers, chicken sandwiches".

Parrot Cay is open 12:00pm - 1:30pm

Remember CC is Disney's PRIVATE island. They actually bought it and transfromed it into the beautiful island paradise it is! My husband did a google search on Gorda Cay (it's official name) and found out some interesting history.

So being on CC is the same as being onboard. Eat as much as you like.

In addition to the items mentioned they also had ice cream, fruit, cookies, chips & soft drinks.

The hot foods were delicious!!!

And let's not forget the konk koolers as you sunbathe on the beach!

Enjoy!

Mmmmm.....lobster burgers sound interesting. Is it like a lobster roll (cold like tuna salad) or like a burger patty? I'm having a hard time trying to picture it! :confused3

Hi, In March, my husband and I went to the adult only beach. We ate lunch there (before going back to take the children to the family beach.) We had lobster. Not lobster burgers, the whole lobster. They were great! We also had cookie dough ice cream (not sure if it was yogurt or ice cream). Everything we ate was great!

Have I heard correctly that there are also salads available? Like maybe ceaser or the like? Thanks for any info!

Actually I just read in the Passporter today about all this. It lists all the above items and where to get what. Although it said that Parrot Cay is also open on the ship from 8:00 to 1:30 for buffet.

DIS NURSE...yes, Caesar salad! It was yummy! It was set up kind of like a kiosk and the CM was constantly making fresh salad.

NO NO NO! Definitely not like a lobster roll...at least not like they serve in Maine with large chunks of lobster meat in butter. Ah...what a memory. :) This was small pieces of lobster (or so they claimed) mixed in with alot of fillers more like a crabcake. I took one bite of mine. :( Expected something totally different. The ribs are realy good though!

Lobster rolls in Maine-mmmmm!!! Oh well- it was a fleeting thought. Thanks!
