Eating @ Epcot...sampling Food Around The World

I have this idea that during the afternoon we tour the World Show Case, instead of having a complete meal we could sample signature foods while in the different countries. Kind of like a progressive dinner. We are newbies to WDW and don't know when/if we will be able to return. Trying to experience as much as we can.

What do you think? Any suggestions for our meal? Or am I just crazy!

That's exactly what we were planning on doing! We want the kids to try things at as many countries as they can. So while they're getting their Kidsport (passport) stamped at each country, they'll be sampling the food too!

We're going to end up our "tour" at China for dinner at Nine Dragons, mainly because we're Chinese food lovers and are planning a trip to China next year.

I must say that for dessert (or breakfast, or just because you want to) you need to go to Kringla's bakery in Norway. They have FABULOUS pastries....everything looks delicious and I am guessing is. I've had the cloudberry horn which was good and a Kringla.....I will probably never try anything other than the Kringla now! It's so yummy!!!

By the way, here's my cheat sheet for what's available at each country (it's sort of in my code and not complete, but it gives you an idea):

Lunch options:
Refreshment Port (chicken nuggets)
Fish & Chips England
Boulangerie, crepes France
Shwarma, Morocco
Kaki Gori (shave ice) Japan
Funnel Cakes USA
Pasticciera, gelato Italy
Brats, pretzels Germany
Lotus Blossom China
Kringla Bakerie Norway
Cantina Mexico

IMO, sampling a bit here and there rather than a big meal at any one place is the perfect way to experience World Showcase. I wouldn't have it any other way!

sounds good!

may be hard to get smaller portions, though. if you're going to the teppanyaki room in japan, get the sampler of tempura and just share it with the rest of your family. Japan doesn't have a "snack" place I know of whereas some of the others do. But the tempura is pretty good so I'd try that.

....and thank you for the suggestions of eats for our tour. Can't wait to experience the World Showcase! :Pinkbounc

We do this all the time. We always have salmon in Norway, eggrolls in China, a turkey leg in America, pastries in France, a Beaver Tail in Canada and a margarita in Mexico. It is even better if you go during the Food and Wine Festival in October.

Enjoy
Linda

We did that very thing last week. Here's how it went....

Started in Canada at 11:00, but the Beaver Tail cart is closed :-(
Moved on to England for some fish and chips
Hustled over to France for 2 croissants, chocolate mousse, chocolate tart, chocolate cake (there were 5 of us there ;) )
Meandered through Morrocco. Wish we had room to share a quick service lunch platter, but alas, we needed a few minutes.
Moved on to Japan for some Tempura Kaki and Kaki Gori.
Waddledb the rest of the way through World Showcase wishing we had room for more!

Moral of the story: Don't lose your 'snacking' pace in France. It's easy to do, and everything is yummy, but hold tight and SHARE! :earsboy:

We will remember to "pace" ourselves when in France. I for one am looking forward to the Chocolate Mousse everyone is talking about. :flower:
