I just got back from 8 days at WDW and the ultimate experience of the trip had to be winning a Dream!

On January 2nd two of my friends, DBF, and I, were exiting Test Track only to be surrounded by a group of Dream Team CMs (Pete, Cheri, Chelsea, if I remember right) and a woman in a nice suit/skirt outfit. They immediately started asking us questions about our day and where we were from. We all started wondering what was going on because we had clearly been separated from other exiting riders and were being gently escorted. One of them had a video camera slung around their shoulder and something big seemed to be up. They asked if we could step aside for a few moments to talk to them and we ended up in a little side room.

Other people were craning their heads to see what was going on, and we were informed that we were potential winners. That was the confusing legal wording, because a background check had to be run to make sure no family members worked for Disney. And what were we potential winners for?

Directly from the catalog:
One hundred four (104) Dinner at a Disney Restaurant prizes available: Each prize consists of: One (1) dinner on the night prize is awarded for winner and up to five (5) guests at a Disney restaurant, as selected by the winner from a Sponsor-provided list. Prize includes: an opportunity to meet with the Chef of the restaurant (subject to chef availability), who will recommend selections. ARV of each prize: US$450. Any dinner costs over and above US$75 per person will be the sole responsibility of the winner. If dinner costs are less than US$450 the difference will not be awarded.

With no dining plans, and the starving college kids we are, we jumped for joy. After accepting they led us up to the GM VIP lounge to sign papers and learn more about our prize. I think we were (from what they said) the first people to receive the new prize, and would be the test run. One of my friends was singled out as THE winner and the remaining 3 of us were considered his guests. The paperwork was surprising and I have no idea how many times my friend had to initial this or that, but in the end we were handed three menus to choose our dining experience from: Citricos, Jiko, and Artist Point.

After some discussion, Jiko won for the potential atmosphere, and the flatbread looked really good. So, we were given buttons to celebrate and wear our Dream, and a certificate for our paid dinner reservation at 7pm!

More will come when my TR begins, with photos.

That is SUCH a cool prize, how fun that you're among the first to win it! Big congrats, and I can't wait to read the TR :cheer2:

That is a really cool prize! How much fun! I can't wait to hear how your dinner was!

Congratulations! Also, isn't Chelsea a terrific Dream Team member? My wife & I had the chance to talk to her for a VERY long time in October, & Fragment (as she said her team members call her) was a ton of fun!

Enjoy the Magic & congratulations again!

That is sooo cool. I am so hoping we win something. Not for me but I think it would be a great birthday present for my daughter. But chances are we will not and thats ok too. I am just thankful after all these years I am finally gonna see Cinderella's Castle in real life. So excited
