I have run out of new ideas to have my anniversary dinner at Disney since we've pretty much dined everywhere. But I was looking into Palio's at the Swan and wanted to know how the food was there, is it romantic, and any suggestions about eating there?

We have eaten there three times. It is very good Italian food (much better than Alfredo's or Portobello Yacht Club). Nice Italian wine list. Somewhat expensive. Well decorated restaurant with good service. All in all, I give it a big thumbs up.

As for being romantic, on all three occasions we have been there, the restaurant has not been very crowded, so it has been a little quiet. In my opinion, that is one of the main requirements for a romantic meal.

I agree with madalex :sunny: We thought it was romantic.

However, keep in mind that it is not a Disney owned resturant so you cannot charge it to you room key.

Have fun!!! :wave2:

I just got back from my stay at the Swan and for the first time my DH and I ate at Palio's and I loved it!!! The food was excellent!! Excellent italian food with different variations which was very nice.
If your staying at the Swan then you can charge your meal to your room.
Enjoy!

Sounds like someplace we need to try this trip! I LOVE Italian food!!

We ate there last year for the first time. It was our anniversary as well ad we were very happy with our choice. I echo all of the things said above. You'll love and we are going again this trip. Our anniversary dinner will be at Bistro de Paris this time. We're starting to run out of new places too.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this has been our little, well-kept secret for years now!!! And not necessarily for the romance. DS(13) and I have been enjoying it for 7 years! We go at least once a year and have never, ever seen it crowded. The host/hostess do a good job placing wee ones away from singles and then we usually get a table away from the 'smoochers'. It always works out well. They have great salads, wonderful personal sized but gourmet pizzas and the veal is to die for!!! Their pasta servings are huge and delicious! Have to say in all our visits we have never had room for dessert!!!! BUT, our favorite part is when the 2 Italian grandpa types come around and play music at your table!!! They are so sweet. A $tip will get you even more songs. Each visit DS tries to stump them with a request - in April it was a Hillary Duff song - guess what? THEY KNEW IT!!!!! I always ask for something Dean Martin and Star Wars too - yes, they can play just about anything you can hum!!!! If you go ask for Michael - been there since day one and a Hoot!!!!

So romantic that the couple at the table across from me needed to get a room! :o

But the lobster tortellini is very good but a huge portion! There were no strolling musicians the night we dined there.

OUTSTANDING food and wait staff! Try their house wine. They combine several reds, and what a combo it is !!
