We leave for Hilton Head in 6 days & we have our favorites for eating out but I would like to hear others especially for a place for breakfast. We like Kingfisher over in the cove as well as Old Oyster Factory. Thanks so much!

Signe's on Arrow Rd. Great little place. Tends to be on the healthier side of breakfast.

We've eaten at the Hilton Head Diner several times. We were quite happy with the results.

I am sure there are others.

Yeaaa! Have a blast!!! Never gone there but we've wanted to the past few years. I'll be watching this thread for recommendations!!!

For breakfast: Stack's Pancakes. Lots of decent food and good prices. We went later in the morning and walked right in although I've heard it can get very crowded at times.

Dinner: We ate at Kingfisher and also at LongHorn Steak House. LongHorn is a chain but this one was exceptional, both food and service. Would go back in heartbeat.

I'd agree with both Signe's and Stacks. I notice that no one so far has mentioned Flamingo's Donuts. We were wondering about going there, or getting donuts for the next morning. That's what we tried to do, but they close at 2:00.

Tks for all the suggestions! Will be sure to try out some of the new places especially the doughnut shop!

I am at HHI right now and I have to say I am happy for some of the suggestions for food. We ate at Stacks today and it lived up to all the hype. Didn't try any other restaurants that are also mentioned because I found a gem of an eatery. We went to the Seafood Shack. And I have to say wow!! It is a little hole in the wall, had a line waiting out the door but the seafood was fresh, outstanding, and will go back again and again. The best part, the price. So many places here at HHI are so pricey but the prices range from $6.00 to $16.00. They give you more than enough food. But one draw back, the service is lackluster. Their motto is not fancy, just good food. It is by far the best seafood on the island. Even Rachel Ray had the restaurant on her show and gave it praise. (found this out after I ate there). If you go, get shack attack. Best sample of seafood, crab-cake, shrimp, scallops, oysters, and fresh fish. Along with hush puppies and 2 sides of your choice. The coleslaw was awesome. The Shack Attack is the most expensive, $14.00 for lunch, $16.00 for dinner. But you can get it fried, blackened, or grilled.

Another place that serves a good breakfast (and great lunch/early dinner) is Gruby's Deli, located in the center with Fresh Market. An authentic New York deli, very good!!!

We'll be there Monday - Woo Hoo! Wondering where Stack's is? We're going to Charleston on Weds. to pick up DD at the airport. Anyone have a suggestion of a not to miss place for supper in Charleston? We've got our list of places to eat in HH, but hadn't given much thought to Charleston.
