For those that have "eaten around the world" what was something you had to grab from each country? Also are there CS in each country?

Hi fellow Texan! :goodvibes

The only countries that don't have a counter service option is Canada and Italy.

Some of my favorite tasty treats:

Mexico - we typically skip, I find the Cantina really gross, but with the new tequila bar we'll be trying some of their food options.

Norway - they have a bakery. Lots of people like the schoolbread, I thought it was dry when I tried it but they have lots of tasty baked goods to choose from. You can also get some sandwiches and stuff.

Germany - we typically get a beer and pretzel here

France - they have a great bakery, and also a kiosk outside of the bakery with crepes. This is the hardest country for me to decide on but I always go with the cheese plate. It's a great value with several different kinds of cheese, bread, and grapes. DH always gets a pastry, and we often pick them up later for breakfast the next morning.

America - I skip it usually, though am always tempted by the funnel cake kiosk

Morocco - this is our favorite counter service restaurant, so we usually will arrange a meal here.

Italy - no counter service but there is wine :cool1:

UK - the fish and chips are good, so is the beer

China - you can stop for an eggroll or something at the CS spot. We discovered the new Joy of Tea kiosk a trip or two ago and I highly recommend the Peach Snapl cocktail.

Japan - We'll often pick up some funky candy in the dept store and try a few of the Sake offerings. The CS does have sushi which is a good light meal to split between a few people.

Thanks. We are going to be doing Beers/Wine around the world too (hoping we wont be sloshed by the end).

Never tried to eat around the world, but have successfully drank around the world. If you actually do it, you WILL be sloshed at the end

Italy does have a kiosk that sells desserts and coffee drinks, they just don't have any counter-service entrees.

My List...

Mexico - Nachos & Margaritas
Norway - Rice Cream (YUM!)
China - Egg Rolls
Germany - Bratwurst w/Sauerkraut
Italy - Tiramisu
America - We skip America
Japan - Sushi & Kaki Gori
Morocco - Lamb Shawarma Platter
France - Strawberry Tart or Crepe w/Sugar
UK - Fish & Chips
Canada - Beaver Tails (but sadly they no longer sell them. :( )

We are doing this. We are drinking and eating lunch around the world. We plan to have a drink in each country (sharing at a few if we start to get too tipsy) and sharing a snack so we can try something in each country. Here is our plan:

Mexico: try new tequila place for a margarita and chips/salsa or appetizer
Norway: Not sure on the drinks available, but we are trying the school bread
Germany: Beer and a pretzel
Japan: Saki and a sushi roll
China: The Peach tea drink everyone raves about and an egg roll
America: Again, not sure on the drink, but having a funnel cake
France: the slushies and a pastry
England: Welsh dragon and English Chips
Morocco: wine and side dish
Canada: I thought they didn't have a cart or anything
Italy: the Italian Margarita

Mexico - Margaritas
Norway - Rice Cream & School Bread!
China - Egg Rolls
Germany - Bratwurst w/Sauerkraut and beer
Italy - They don't have CS or a snack cart:sad1:
America - The kids love the funnel cakes
Japan - Kaki Gori
Morocco - Combo Shawarma Platter
France - Grey Goose Slush and anything from the bakery!
UK - Fish & Chips
Canada - I can't remember...sorry!

We usually do this for one of our EPCOT days instead of the more popular 'drink around the world'. I usually don't drink, plus we tend to go in June when it is melt-your-face-hot outside and getting plastered seems a lot less appealing. :rotfl:

Mexico - nachos and we did split a frozen margarita here

Norway - we tried the lefse and an almond/frosting covered pretzel...they were ok but France's pastries were better. next time we'll have to try the school bread.

China - split an orange chicken and egg roll

Germany - pretzel or a bratwurst

Italy - no CS here, DH got a wine flight

America - funnel cake!

Japan - our first time around, we tried sushi because neither of us had ever had it before. We were NOT fans...skipped Japan altogether the 2nd time around.

Morocco - the wraps are great here!

France - mmm...the patisserie is fantastic! We always have to get a couple different pastries to try - and the cheesecake is pretty great too.

UK - I admit, we have always been too full by the time we hit the UK to try anything! But there is a CS fish and chip shop here.

Canada - no CS here either...but Le Cellier is great if you can get an ADR!

Mexico - Cantina Nachos
Norway - Schoolbread
China - Can't remember (something from the CS)
Germany - Apple Strudel
Italy - Tiramisu from the Kiosk (they also sell gelato)
America - Funnel cake
Japan - Kaki Gori
Morocco - Meatball platter from the CS
France - I always get a pitivier from the patisserie
UK - Lion candy bar from Twinings
Canada - maple candy from the gift shop

I didn't do these all in one day. ;)

orange chicken is sooooooo good esp if you find someone that makes it SPICY. Its way diff than sweet and sour chicken. Its similar to Gen Tso's according to some people.

I noticed that Canada leaves a "blank" for lots of people. DW and I like the maple cream cookies in the gift shop. They have them with chocolate too.

In America, we like the fried ice cream, but funnel cakes are always a tasty treat too.

(France)Boulangerie Patisserie-Croissant Chocolate
(Mexico)Cantina de San Angel-Cantina Nachos and a Lime Margarita
(Japan) Kaki Gori (my favorite is the honeydew)
(Norway) Kringla Bakeri og Cafe-Lefse
(China) some nice green tea from the joy of tea stand
(Germany) I go in the little shop and get a gingerbread mickey
(Morocco) Tangierine Cafe-Chicken Shawarma Platter
(UK) Yorkshire country fish shop- chips

My friend and I did a eating around the world day once it was very fun. Kept it as cheap as can be by splitting everything even one cookie so we never got too full for the next few stops by the end of the day we were full and had a ton of fun.

have successfully drank around the world. If you actually do it, you WILL be sloshed at the end..

So if we do this how long does it usually take you? I'm thinking this might be the night we use daycare.

What is the Kaki Gori from Japan? :confused3

It's shaved ice (snow cone). They have strawberry, honeydew melon, tangerine, or rainbow. I had the strawberry. It was very good on a hot day, but the top of it fell off in little red chunks all around world showcase. My apologies to the custodial CMs. :flower3:

Nachos in Mexico. :goodvibes

Strawberries w/choc dipping sauce in Italy. ;)

14 more days! :yay:
