okay, so i thought this would be fun. Say you plan to eat your way around World Showcase. Which end would you start? Which country has the best desert? What is the best thing on the menu at each of the CS's in the countries. Should you make your way one at a time or skip around? Tell me your strategies! I'm having fun daydreaming about this tonight in bitterly cold Maine, eating my mickey shaped sugar cookies::MickeyMo :earboy2:

Help me out here, I need to visualize...and drool. I'm thinking you couldn't actually eat at every single country. Maybe you could buy a packaged food to bring back for later at some. You'd deffinately have to pace yourself=P

I think you could start in either direction really. I love the bakery in France, in particular--so many desserts. Pretzels in Germany are another stop. If you look at the counter service menus you can get a good idea of what you might want to try if you plan it out. Otherwise, I have gone around and just randomly tried new snacks/foods too and that can be fun.

Have fun!!!

Awsome stuff guys! I am going to post a simular thread now only about drinking! lol

That depends on how much you can eat :lmao: I have on several occasions in years past gone around the world during the F&W festival, and eaten at least one food item from every booth. There's a lot fewer countries than that in WS. Sure some of the counter service portions are more full meal size, but there are plenty of appetizers and snacks at each country to make a gastronomic trip around the world quite possible.

I would start in Mexico because I love Mexican food, not to mention I can grab a margarita while I'm there!

I do not know what the best item is on each menu in each country as I have not eaten at "every one" but here are my favs for the ones that I have been at:

Mexico: Tacos al carbon (chicken or beef) with peppers, onions, guac & sour cream. Cantina nachos minus the beans (I don't do beans).

Norway: (Princess lunch), I had a chicken dish, but do not remember the name at the time (it's no longer on the menu), and the dessert were great:Traditional Rice Cream, Chocolate Mousse, and Lingonberry Cheesecake.

Germany: Traditional Sausages with Red Cabbage Sauerkraut.

United Kingdom:(Rose & Crown Pub): Potato & Leek Soup - Roasted potatoes, cream and leeks. Sunday dinner-style braised beef with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, and Red Wine gravy.

Japan:(Yakitori House)Garden Salad - Made with Ginger dressing, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red cabbage and carrot. Kaki-Age Udon - Vegetable tempura with shrimp, and udon noodles served in a clear broth with green onions. Tempura shrimp udon.

China: Nine Dragons Lunch Box Set - Enjoy our fresh baked sesame bread with your choice of: Canton Pepper Beef Brisket, Saucy Chicken, or Xi'an Pulled Pork. Served with a light and tasty Beef soup and Chinese coleslaw.

Morocco: Chicken Kebabs - Brochettes of chicken breasts marinated in Moroccan herbs and spices.

I'm of the mind to skip around. However we always visit World Showcase twice during each visit because we love it there so much. I think my best advice(strategy) would be to just enjoy it slowly so that you can suck it all up. It's just so beautiful and unique, why rush through. And you definitely have to stop and see the musicians, especially Off Kilter and the British Invasion.

my dd(22) and i do this all the time, it is our highlight of epcot. we usually start on the canada side, but just get candy there, miss those beaver tails! but usually we are way too stuffed by the time we get to mexico. we really enjoy it. we think france has the best desserts, followed by norway. another good idea for friends back home, we purchase some candy from each county, japan has a real good selection.

I like this thread:goodvibes but I don't have a good strategy for eating around the world. I end up jumping all over!:confused3
I like France for desert and also for quiche. Norway is good for desert as well and I like CS in China for appetizers/snacks (springrolls etc.)
I think I need to find more options in between:rotfl:
