Eat, Run and Celebrate- Day 7- Last Day and New Orleans

Pat, I LOVE the dress on you -- you look great (and you've encouraged me to get it on my next trip).

Sorry you didn't have a very good seat for Illimunations.

How great that you got to meet Marv! And that's a great photo of the two of you!

Thank you for the compliment. I do look forward to wearing that dress again, once it gets a bit warmer.

As for Illuminations, I thought it would be a long shot to find a seat with a great view. I really wanted the nachos so that was my priority. :lmao:

Being able to hear the music was good enough. No snit involved in with that one.

I was glad that Marv was able to find some time to meet. We had a great talk.

Love the dress Pat !!! The storm /lightening looked scarey!!!! Magdalena and I had a great view of Illuminations , the best I've ever had !!!

I like the dress too. That storm was cool looking from afar.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry couldn' resist that one.

I loved your updates! Your Safari and Gorilla pics are amazing!

The Yak attack was a nice break from the heat for you.

Wow - the purple cloud pics are even more amazing!!!:thumbsup2
Yay for a DISmeet!:yay: I forgot we had a hint that happened!:thumbsup2

Thanks.

The safari and Gorillas are never the same twice. :goodvibes

I will be having that Yak attack again.

That storm was cool. If it was on top of me, it would have been scary.

"The Edge of Night"....my mom and older sisters used to watch that one back in the '70's. ::yes::

Great pictures of the clouds, they were really lighting up!

Now that I think about it, I think Judy thought about getting that sundress the last time we were there too, but somehow resisted the temptation.

Glad you got to meet Marv! He's really making the rounds lately!

That was my theme for the day. Soaps

Not sure what the "theme" the next day will bring. :confused3

Great pictures of the clouds, they were really lighting up!

It was cool to watch. Even better that I was dry while doing it.

I had resisited it many times before. Since I still wanted it, I figured it was time.

Glad you got to meet Marv! He's really making the rounds lately!

MArv is making the rounds. The one difference was this time it was a planned meeting. Who knows, next time it might be a surprise.

It was evening EMH.

I did some of the usual rides during EMH

It was 11:45 by the time I got off M:S

I walked around to SE but it was closed. I had done everything but Soarin’ and SE. Back out to the front and to the busses. I was back to the resort by midnight.

What, that's not true? :confused3
The faux pickle tree? All lies. :lmao:

I recently read that a NASA scientist endured a test 24 hrs of 2 g-forces (MS is just a little more than 2g). I can't imagine that. I'm fine after one ride, but one time when I rode it twice in a row I found out that once is enough.

I couldn't imagine 24 hours. I can ride once easy- twice depending on how hot it is and how hydrated I am, pretty easy. After that it begins to wear on me a bit.

I am glad you got that storm in motion. :rotfl:

It was pretty cool but crazy the way it just kept flashing.

It was fun to watch from MK. Everyone was just sitting around waiting for the parade and Wishes watching. When the lightning flashed bright the whole crowd reacted. Mickey could have ran around the hub without his pants and I don't think anyone would have noticed. :rotfl2:

In my past little bit of 'research' on this, having no desire to be too much of a liar to my students, it seems that the custom was true only in a very small section of Germany. There are several different stories surrounding its beginnings, including a pickle saving the life of a dying prisoner. Who knows if anything in any of them are true, but hey, America has the apple guy, so they can have the pickle guy. :thumbsup2

I guess because it is a unique story, I'm going to believe that somewhere along the lines, some form of it was true. I'm sticking to the pickle story with my second graders, with the preface that it was only for a small part of Germany. If nothing else, Americans have made it a German tradition, so we're going with it. No big 'dill' if we're wrong, right? ;)

The pickle story is great. I think it is such a cute tradition.
Love the Nemo pics. I will just have to enjoy your pictures of Mission Space. I will never get on that ride. I am afraid of it!:scared1:

AS you can see it kept me quite occupied while I waited for the bus too. :lmao:

I will have to ask my mom again about the pickle story. She is a "real" German so maybe she can shed some light on this. I have a feeling that she had no idea either since I do have a pickle for our tree, and I think she may have commented on that years ago.
I know few other "real " Germans around here laugh at the tree and Caramel store since neither are authentic German items.

I am sure it had to come from somewhere, An urban myth that large has to have a bit of reality in it. :confused3

:headache: That is my version of a groan. :lmao: But I did chuckle too.

Beautiful nighttime pics of World Showcase!!!

Thank you. :goodvibes

I do have a pickle. I used to hide it on the tree and the kids would search daily and receive a treat when thye found it.
Now that the kids are big I have not done that in years. :sad2:

I like Mission space. I will probably only do it once a trip and if I miss it I won't be heartbroken.

WOW! Very cool lightning pictures! That's amazing how the clouds look.

I like your night pictures at Epcot as well. Looks like the park thinned out during the EMH.

And I'm glad you got to meet Marv! Sounds like it was a nice time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marv this evening. He was in my town for Andrew's soccer tournament.

We mat at a local mall at the Disney store. We had a great talk.

MArv, I enjoyed our time together and next time you are in town we will have to go to Wan Fu!
