Who wants to join me for this challenge? I really meant to say let's see how long we can go WITHOUT buying anything except for produce/milk/bread and eggs. Went away for the weekend *budget buster* so I'm NOT going to buy any food this week (thankfully I have enough food in the freezer) except for produce & milk (have enough bread and eggs) Going through my freezer/pantry I came up with this menu. What's yours?

Mon- cereal, grilled cheese/soup, dinner-roast beef, buttered noodles, salad, oranges, peaches, pears

Tues- cereal, eggs or pancakes, tuna sandwiches, BBQ chicken drumsticks, broccoli, oranges, peaches, pears

Wed-cereal, eggs or pancakes, grilled cheese/soup, pasta with meat sauce, salad, oranges, peaches, pears

Thurs-cereal, eggs or pancakes, tuna sandwiches, corned beef, potatoes and cabbage, oranges, peaches, pears

Fri- day trip so bagels, tuna sandwiches, pizza out

Sat-cereal breakfast, lunch out, dinner-leftovers

Sun-cereal, eggs, bacon or pancakes, chicken quesadillas, homemade pizza, fruit

forgot I also have pb&j and egg salad for lunches, also chickpeas (DD9 loves them)

I totally need to get on this!!! My freezer is so full, even my kids know how to 'open it with care' so they don't have stuff falling on them!
There has been lots of great 'stock up and freezer sales' and along with coupons, the price is hard to pass up!

Mon- bkfst: strudel, Dinner: chimichangas with mexican rice and corn (this entire meal will cost about $4 to make thanks to lots of corn from our friend and rice on sale plus a coupon, AND a sale on the chimichangas and coupons!!!)

Tues- bkfst:cereal dinner:friendship soup (dry soup mix I put together and have a few pkgs of them) mix with ground beef and served with toasted french bread (also from the freezer!)

Wed-bkfst: pancakes dinner: pizza nite

Thurs- bkfst- egg in a hole (lots of bread to use up- got about 5 loafs left at 70cents a loaf) dinner: balsamic pasta with fresh tomatoes and peppers from our garden and sausage

Fri- bkfst: toast with fresh fruit dinner: Out to eat tonight!

Sat- bkfst: egg and sausage muffins lunch- left overs from the week dinner: chicken on the grill, rice, veggies

Sun- bkfst- cereal lunch: pot roast with potatoes and fresh veggies from the slow cooker dinner:left overs/hot pork sandwiches

This is my plan this week! Had hubby stop at grocery store for milk, bread, american cheese and sour cream. everything else is coming for pantry/freezer.

Tonight: Chicken w/cream mush, cream chicken, dry onion soup, sour cream and rice in crockpot

Tomorrow: pulled pork

Wed: Shepards Pie

Thursday: Pasta

Friday: Fajitas

Sat/Sun ?? this may be hard, for saturday as hubby and I are heading to differnt activites.

I do plan on going grocery shopping on sunday and it will be my first time in 3 weeks! I am a SAHM and am eating what we have inhouse for lunch/breakfast too! Todays lunch I made pizza sauce and made pizza w/the bread I came home w/from cookout at my parents house yesterday, 9 inch subrolls. Pulled pork will be on bread from there, too. Have chick nuggest, macncheese, grilled cheese, etc for kids lunch. Me i'm a left over for lunch. Only thing I may have to do is have hubby stop at farmstand for veggies for salad.

glad ya'll joined me:)
It's so hard for me to pass up good deals on food but I can't shop for a week or so. Then I'm going to shop sales and hopefully have a month of food in my freezers (have 2 fridges) :thumbsup2

Can I join in? This will make me look at my freezer. Our second frig/freezer went kapooee and so I am desperate to make freezer space.

I also have a 10% off my entire purchase for my grocery store and it expires 9/11. I want to eat up as much as I can before hand so I can do a huge trip either 9/4 or 9/11 and stock up.

Tues: leftover Hamburgers & Hot Dogs, Mac & cheese & green beans(from garden)
Wed: Frozen dinners & zucchini bread (DH is "cooking")
Thurs: Grilled Chicken, mashed potatoes (or stuffing) & brocolli
Fri: Pork chops, stuffing (or mashed potatoes) & peas
Sat: Grilled Steak, Oriental coleslaw & corn on the cob or green beans(from garden)
Sun: Pizza at the inlaws

Cool!

I forgot, I do have the entertainment coupon book and I saved $5 3 times already when spending $50 or more at the grocery store (Shoprite) First time I ever got those entertainment books and I definitely got my $25 back.

We're doing that, but it is largely because I WAY overbought for my daughter's birthday party over the weekend! Yesterday and this morning all we've eaten have been leftovers - hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, watermelon, cantaloupe, berries, etc. - and things made from those leftovers. I need to clean out the fridge and freezer before Labor Day because we're going up to the market to pick up our bulk meat orders the Tues after, so I'm trying to eat what we've got stocked.

Tonight is a wintery meal, but DD requested it - corned beef from the freezer with cabbage, carrots, and potatoes from her 4H garden.

I am with you!!! My freezer is overflowing so I started Sunday and we are eating out of the freezer and pantry.

I'm IN!!!! We just got back from a non-Disney trip and had to pay tuition for my oldest's college class. Then, we had a couple of unexpected expenses (hospitalization, tree removal, etc). I need to be VERY frugal this month if I'm going to be able to make the payments for our trips for next year!!

So, here's our plan:

All breakfasts - eggs/oatmeal/toast
Lunches - A friend works at a health food store. The other day she called and said that one of the freezers had died and they were giving away the food! I high-tailed it over there and my friend had set aside about 50 Amy's organic meals and a bunch of veggie burgers! SCORE!!! Those are our lunches this week.
Dinners: -
Tonight - Lasagne (I'm watching a friend's children and she brought dinner!), salad
Wed - Pasta with chickpeas and garlic sauce,(http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1011294)/peas
Thurs - homemade pizza, green beans
Fri - Veggie burgers
Sat - chicken with homemade barbecue sauce (from the freezer)/rice/peas

I will be trying to do this starting in a couple weeks. I did pretty good this week already and am cleaning a bunch out. Next week though is more about what I can make to meet the insane schedule my mother has so she has a nice meal to come home to. Thus, it's a thing about WHAT can I make to meet the needs... not what I have in the freezer.

After that though... I need to clean my freezer and pantry out! Actually, I need to clean my garage out so that I can get a freezer for out there before I start making stews and soups!

I can go next week, although I will have to get milk and DH wants more chips! But I can certainly go without for the most part.

I have plenty of food and really would like to see some of it cleared out!

Tonight: tacos/burritos
Friday: Roasted chicken
Saturday: Grilled sausages
Sunday: Rice/chicken

ok im going to do this until next sunday night (sept 5). we are leaving for disney on the 6th. my freezer is packed!! i want to use things up before i go away and things spoil in the fridge. the only thing i plan on buying is bread if i run out.

tonight we are having breakfast for dinner. im tired and dont feel like real cooking. tommorrow we will be having spagetti and italian sausage. havent thought about next week yet.

Okay. Even though I have VERY little in the fridge, I made out a plan for the next week that will involve very little shopping.

Sun - split pea soup/homemade mac and cheese/broccoli/salad
Mon - Lentils/rice soup with dumplings/veggie of some sort
Tues - Black bean burgers/potatoes/gr. beans
Wed - Jambalaya/potatoes
Thurs - Bacon/tomato/olive oil pasta with homemade biscuits/veggie
Fri - Veggie burgers
Sat - Pancakes/eggs/leftovers

My shopping list for the week is very minimal with this list. Mostly, stocking up on the veggies and fruit for snacks. I'll be making bread/biscuits/tortillas/etc. tomorrow.
