Tonight will most likely be out after the funeral. No idea where. We leave for the grave side service at 2 so we will decide after that.

I need some good thoughts for today. Usually I am the emotional one, but today I have to be the strong one and be there for everyone else. I just hope I can do it.

Good thought and prayers heading your way:hug:

LilyWDW, sending good thoughts your way.

Tonight I made pulled pork tacos with Spanish rice.

LilyWDW I pray peace and comfort for you and yours during this time of grief. :grouphug:

Well, Symphony on the Lawn got rained out...they moved it to the gym. Trying to keep three children still and quiet in a gym for two hours? :headache: Uh, no thanks! We rented movies and had a carpet picnic in the living room instead. It turned out to be a fun and peaceful evening at home. :cloud9:

Our oldest DD is having a commitment ceremony for True Love Waits tonight! We got her a very special purity ring. This is such a milestone for her. It makes me proud of her decision and it makes me sad that she is no longer a little girl... :hourglass

Dinner tonight:

Sausage and Cheddar Quiche
Vanilla Yogurt with Fresh Blueberries
Biscuits with Butter and Honey

The guys were finishing up with priming the new walls at the rental house last night and ate late. They didn't leave a lot leftover so I guess it was okay.

Tonight will be a baked potato bar. I'm going to have potatoes and toppings:
Sloppy Joe sauce
Cheese
Sour cream
Green onions
Tomatoes
Black olives
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped green pepper

We'll also have a salad and French bread and I'm going to cut up a watermelon for dessert.

I have a lot of green peppers so I'm thinking shrimp stuffed peppers for tomorrow. :)

Tonight I am making french toast bake with sausage and sliced strawberries. I was orginally going to make it later on this week but it sounded too good to me this morning to pass up.

Today was my shopping day so my new plans (in no special order) are:
Taco night
Meatball/toasted mozzerella and tomato slice subs with salad
Nacho Casserole (new recipe I'm trying)
Spinach Casserole with pork chops/tomato stack and rolls
Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs
Pork chops/fish with mashed potatos and corn on the cob

This will be interrupted Sunday with a day of DH's favorites. I have a general shopping list for this but it might vary a bit (DH has lots of favories and only a few must haves) depending on what I find on special on Saturday.

Grilled Steaks
Roasted Potatoes
Steamed Asparagus
*Sugar Daddy A la' Mode for dessert (think chocolate crust, pecans, caramels all topped off with ice cream, YUM)

Tonight we are having Jersey Mike's Sub with homemade sweet potato fries. I had all intentions of cooking but my allergies have been acting up and I have a meeting tonight. I figured a semi homemade meal is better than going completely out.

Sunday (past): cubed steak with southern style green beans and mashed red potatoes
Monday (past): Lemon Basil Pasta with Grilled chicken and asparagus
Tuesday (past): mashed potato pancakes with ham steak and cheesey broccoli
Wednesday (past): leftover Lemon Basil Pasta with italian sausage and fresh steamed veggies (carrots, green beans and red bell pepper)
Thursday (tonight): Chicken marsala and sauteed spinach
Friday: apricot grilled shrimp, PW's crash hot potatoes, and fresh green salad
Saturday: grilled flank steak with [something?] and fresh green salad
Sunday: chicken tacos
Meatless Monday: black bean tortilla casserole
Tuesday: pork scaloppine and squash

Charming, Walgreens had this allergy medicine (their brand) on register rewards this week. It only has 5 tabs but you get it for free. My hubby and I each bought one. They seem to work just as good as Claritin for me.

Made Pad Thai for lunch and then had Chicken Spaghetti for dinner.

Tomorrow I am splurging and getting Which Wich for lunch. Went there the first time a couple of days ago and YUM! I will make pasta salad here at home and eat that with the sandwich. Not sure what I will get yet though!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They really helped use get through the last few days. I appreciate it so much.

This thread caught my eye as I explored "today's posts". I subscribed right away. Our family eats out so much, I am embarrassed. I am going to try really hard to plan, buy and cook. I know the kids would love to help. Thanks to all planners and cooks.

Thanks. I actually got a house brand from a local store, Marc's that is suppossed to be like Zyrtec and so far it seems to be working.

Hello Friends...it's FRIDAY!!! :cool1: We have a regular Friday night "gig" that we have to be at by 6pm every Friday. Therefore, dinner is always something extremely quick and simple, so we are not tempted to grab take-out...

Hot Dog Wraps
Chips
Sliced Strawberries

Trying to decide dinner tonight. Trying to pick between Artichoke and Spinach baked Cod with Buttered Snap Peas and Rice Pilaf or Orange Chicken Broccoli with Rice and Egg Rolls.
