Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!!

Tonight we are going out for dinner with the extended family. This morning I am cooking my mom breakfast, puffy pancakes with sliced strawberries and bananas.

Happy Mother's day! Well my hubby likes to pretend he can't cook so I am sure I will be making my own breakfast lol! I've got some sausage defrosted and may make some homemade pancakes.

DH is making bacon right now and then said "um can you make the eggs" :rotfl2: So I am making fried eggs, Potatoes and he's making bacon for breakfast.

We are having a late lunch at PFChang's for Mother's Day. Funny when you don't eat out at all- a meal out is a treat.
I have not planned my menu for the week yet but a quick look at the sale flyer looks like we'll have a Roast Chicken, some ribs, maybe some pork chops this week.

Ah life is good.

DH and the kiddos made omelettes and toast for breakfast this morning, and I was presented with my favorite Tropicana roses and a gift certificate for a spa day: massage, facial, mani and pedi. :cool1:

Lucky!

I really want an ice cream maker. I would love the ability to make ice cream, know exactly what goes in it, and be able to do it with fresh fruit. An ice cream maker is on my list of kitchen gadgets that I still want.

I bought a ice cream maker off HSN used it twice and lost the paddle for it. It ended up in the garbage:rotfl:

I actually got the entire day off from cooking! DH made breakfast, then we went out for lunch and then DH made dinner. He made steak, sweet potatoes, broccoli and mac n cheese. It was really yummy!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. My Mom seemed to enjoy her day.

This week's menu plan

Putting together my menu for this week and next and having a hard time coming up with stuff because things are so busy. Hopefully we'll be able to stick to this:

Tuesday: Something quick out or pick up pizza. We are going to the grocery store. I am out of EVERYTHING! The fridge is empty, the freezer is bare and other then canned veggies and mac & cheese, my pantry is naked.

Wednesday: Chicken fried rice

Thursday: DD dance rehearsal - Taco Salad (because I can make most of it on Wednesday night)

Friday: DD dance recital - sloppy joes, baked fries

Saturday: CEDAR POINT :cool1: We'll be picnicing at the park. Sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, fruit and cookies for lunch. Hot dogs, chips, possibly baked beans, and whatever is leftover from lunch from dinner.

Sunday: We have a bday party for our nephew and DD is dancing in a community festival plus we'll have to take DSS's home so I'm thinking at this point we'll grab something out after our long weekend.

Monday: Brats, sauerkraut, fruit salad

Tuesday: Chicken enchiladas, black beans

Wednesday: BBQ chicken wraps, pasta salad, fruit salad

Thursday: Ham and Cheese Omelets and toast

Friday: Burgers on the grill, baked beans

Saturday: DD and I are going to a wedding and DH & the boys will have a boys night out.

Last night we ended up having trail bologna, cheese, crackers, carrots sticks, and fruit for dinner. We were going to take them for lunch yesterday to the zoo and were in to big of a rush to put everything together.

Tonight I plan on having chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed veggies.

Happy Belated Mothers Day everyone :goodvibes

Our homemade ice cream was a big fat FAIL. :sad1: The Cuisinart ice cream maker I got at the auction was brand new, but did not make ice cream at all. I have no idea what I did wrong. :confused3 We ended up drinking REALLY sweet strawberry milk. :headache: So frustrated!

I got one for mother's day. I love it. You just freeze the bowl and it makes up in 20min. Don't have to worry about ice and salt and all that. I also like making low fat and fruit. Good luck!
