Today I am making Cincinnati Chili in the crock pot. We will have it served over spaghetti with cheese and sour cream. I also have spinach to have a salad on the side.

The rest of the week should be
Tuesday- Pork Chops with baked sweet potatoes
Wednesday- Out for my Aunt's Birthday
Thursday- Spinach Salad with grilled chicken strips
Friday- Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
Saturday- peppersteak over rice
Sunday- Out for mother's day

Checking in here with my plans:

Friday-we ate at the Chinese buffet. I really am beginning to hate eating out. Granted Chinese buffet is not the best food to go by when judging eating out, but I really am loving my homemade meals far more. However, I worked Thursday night, then woke up at 4 p and within 2 hours had to get 1 kid off the bus, drive 20 minutes across town to get the other kid, pick up my car from the mechanic and have dinner before going to work.....so we caved and ate out.

Saturday- we had shake&bake buffalo chicken, green bean casserole, biscuits

Sunday - we had grilled cheeseburgers with onions and pickles, roasted potatoes

Monday (tonight) - we are ordering out Italian, 1 pie, 1 order antipasto salad, 1 order penne vodka. Comes out to $30 for the 4 of us, but it's really good food. My hot water heater that I bought in 2009 is leaking all over the place so I have my water shut off and Sears is supposed to replace it tomorrow.

Then, in no particular order:

~ham steaks, cheesy potatoes, veggie
~tacos
~homemade pizza and mozzarella sticks
~hot dogs, sauerkraut, French fries
~Sloppy Joes, pasta salad
~Chicken Piccatta, mashed potatoes, veggie
~Breakfast for dinner: pancakes, bacon

Friday: Wendy's value menu
Saturday: Mushroom burgers, pasta salad and chips
Sunday: Burritos
Monday: Homemade pizza
Tuesday: ????
Wednesday: DH cooking since I'll be out of town :scared1:
Thursday: DH cooking since I'll be out of town

Well I made BBQ chicken today and got carried away- so I have a bunch of BBQ left over.

What can I do with it? I will do a BBQ chicken pizza- but what else? any ideas.

I love BBQ chicken spaghetti

Joining in!

Here's my menu for the week.

Sunday Corned beef and cabbage in the crockpot.
Monday, leftovers, because all the kids were gone and dh and I don't care if we eat leftovers :D
Tuesday: Turkey Spaghetti...in the crock pot
Wednesday Chicken parmesan in the crock pot
Thursday: Taco soup...In the crock pot
Friday: Been and Broccoli....in the crock pot
Saturday: Chicken tacos...IN THE CROCK POT!

Notice a trend here? LOL. I work at home and I am on my phone from 8 am till 4:30pm, so any time I can use my crock pot, I do.

I'm on a mission to eat at home every meal for the month of May. We eat out entirely too much. And due to some financial setbacks this year, we are barely going to be able to do Disney. That may turn in to "We MAY be able to do Disney" if I don't get things under control now.

I have a family of 5, which includes my 20 year old son and Husband who LOVE to eat.

Do you think it's wrong to say, "you get one chicken breast, ect, and if you're still hungry, make a sandwich?" It costs me so much to feed these men!

I am right there with you on the amt of food. I see people here talk bout getting 2 or sometimes 3 meals from 1 chicken. I didn't know you could do that. We literally have to buy 2 whole chicken for everyone(teenage son) to have enough to eat.

AFter 3 hours of Tae Kwon Do, he is working on his first sub, a little over 6 inches. There will be another to follow, and then he will look for something else. A bowl of cereal, means half the box is gone.

He is 14 5"9" and has a 29 inch waste. What do you do, tell him no he is getting fat. He is skinny.

Now lets talk about my youngest son, following in big brothers footsteps. I Don't know where they put it. My neighbor laughed, they had a cookout, (I was sick and couldn't go) she asked youngest DS how many hot dogs, he told her 3 or 4. She said she forgot how much boys eat.

They eat healthy stuff to, they will gladly get 2nds on steamed broccoli and they love summer squash, and salad. They eat healthy just tons of it.

I swear, I think I need a loan to feed them.

OMG I know what you mean. My son is only 12 and eats like an 18 year old. I can't keep enough food in the house and I'm a couponer!

I've been so bad about coming and listing my meal plan here. We've been very good about keeping on schedule and eating at home the last couple of weeks. In the last 2 weeks, we only ate out once, which is great for us. We're rounding out the last part of our two week pay period so this plan will be shorter then normal.

Monday: Chicken lettuce wraps (think PF Changs)

Tuesday: Pork Chops, hashbrowns, corn on the cob

Wednesday: Spaghetti and garlic toast

Thursday: Dance night - dinner out

Friday: Not sure yet. Probably will be something easy like hot dogs and chips since I work late and DH will have to get dinner together.

Saturday: We may eat out but it will likely be someplace like Steak and Shake or McDonalds. We're making the hour drive to get our season passes for Cedar Point , so we'll probably just get something to eat in Sandusky after we get our passes.

Sunday: I'm not cooking :cloud9: DH better have a plan in place :rotfl:

jsmla could I have your rum sauce recipe please? I don't like dessert normally but that looked so yummy I need to try it.

dh and I have just thrown some ideas out for the week of what we would like to have. Tonight we did spaghetti with a turkey meat sauce. The rest of the week one or the other has suggested grilled chicken salad, meatloaf, pizza on the grill, turkey sloppy jo's ( we aren't big beef eaters...turkey is cheaper and healthier) we usually eat out one night like jimmy johns or chinese if he gets home late from work and there are always left overs when we cook too so we usually try to eat those at the end of the week and we go to my rents house for dinner on sundays. Last week dad made gumbo...yum!

This week is a little off as my husband has a few 'talks' to give as part of a creative team. Last night was supposed to be chicken but turned into breadsticks (lol).

Tues - pasta bake with salad
Wed - Scalloped potatoes with greens
Thurs - Turkey tacos
Fri - buffalo chicken tenders
Sat - Pizza

(we aren't red meat eaters and we make everything ourselves in hopes of keeping the tasty 'junk' food healthy)

I know, I feel bad when I don't cook enough food. But you would think that 12 boneless skinless chicken breasts would last for 2 meals...lol. I'm debating on telling them, "One each, fill up on veggies" Or something similar to that.

Thats not mean.....is it? :confused3:confused:

I don't really have a recipe but this is what I think I did!

1/4 c. brown sugar
2 t. butter
1/4 c. coconut rum (Any kind of alcohol would do-rum or Grand Marnier are good!)

Melt brown sugar and butter together, add rum and simmer on medium heat till slightly thickened-I'd guess about two minutes. It's easy to make ahead and reheat.

Here's last night:

Spinach salad with strawberries, pecans and raspberry vinagrette

Pinto Beans and cornbread (Not very photogenic I'm afraid!)

Tonight was supposed to be chicken salads but it's really chilly today. I may have to move things around.

Bon appetit everyone :)

Well considering that I do this too sometimes, no, I don't think it is mean. :confused3 At least I hope not.

Just have to share because I am happy. Tomorrow morning the Farmer's Market opens! I am so excited! Fresh fruits and vegetables, yay!!!

Decided to have chili cheese dogs for dinner tonight using the leftover chili from last night.
