Eat at home

I'm sorry you don't feel well, but I have to say "good for you" at not falling back on take out or something. When your sick and tired is when you just want to say forget it and order something.

So, "GOOD FOR YOU!" and I hope you feel better soon!

Thank You. It was better for me than fast food or takeout anyways.

Fell off the wagon this weekend and ate out 3 times! My plan has been to eat only one meal out each week, usually on Sunday after church, but this long weekend I was just plain lazy about cooking and we hit the drive-thru twice and takeout once.
Back on track tomorrow! Chicken enchiladas and fruit salad for dinner.

Well I hope everyone had a nice long weekend!

Today is catch up day need to go food shopping today will post later!

This is my first reply to this thread but I love it! I will share our menu!

Tonight: our church has a huge fundraiser at a Columbus day festival every year, where we have a food booth. There were LOTS of onions and peppers left, so we are having Chicken Fajitas, with mexican rice and beans.
Wed: dinner at my grandmothers (whole family gathers every Wed, it's my night off)
Thurs: Salmon in Phylo dough with spinach and couscous
Fri: Pizza and movie night. We do homemade Pizza's
Sat: Chicke cordon bleu with roasted potatoes and veg
Sun: Vegetable soup with homemade bread

I have to say I am really proud of myself, other than getting Subway last week for lunch we haven't gone out to eat or gotten take out in a good 3 weeks. Here's our menu for this week.

Sunday - Pork roast, risotto and breamed spinach
Monday - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn
Tuesday - mini theme night for Dumbo while dh and ds15 are at baseball, we are having corn dogs, smiley fries and snow cones for dessert
Wednesday - grilled chicken sandwiches, orzo salad w/ veggies
Thursday - mushroom ravioli in alfredo sauce, salad, bread
Friday - make your own pizza night
Saturday - baseball night, sloppy joes, tater tots

Love your Dumbo theme night! Too cute!

I put a pot roast in the crockpot this AM, but just the roast with some onion soup mix and water, no veggies. I was going to roast some root vegtables tonight but I have a couple bunches of turnip greens in the fridge from my CSA share so i think I might cook those tonight and serve the roast with those and some cornbread that I have in the freezer. I'm thinking the root veggies will keep a while but the turnip greens are going to go bad. Anyone ever cook turnip greens before? I'm off to google it.:confused3

I really like this thread. I tried the Mexican Shepherds Pie last night and we all really liked it.

Tonight is Steak, broccoli, and bell pepper stir fry over rice.
For the rest of the week we'll be having in no particular order:
Cheese Enchilada's
Grilled Chicken with veggies and wild rice
Pork Tenderloin and Apple Potato Pie (this is a new recipe so not sure how it will turn out)
Tacos

Spent a ton of money at the grocery this week for a huge meat sale at Kroger, but we are stocked for the foreseeable future. Here's the weekly dinner list!

Last night: Rosemary, Balsamic Vinegar grilled chicken, brocolli, peas and long grain and wild rice;
Tonight: Grilled pork loin chops, Rosemary buttered potatoes and green beans;
Monday: Baked Penne with Italian sausage and cesar salad;
Tuesday: Crockpot chicken, celery, carrots, onions and mashed potatoes;
Wednesday: Green chili, chicken enchiladas, mexican rice, chips and salsa;
Thursday: Salisbury steak, left over mashed potatoes and corn;
Friday: Pizza :confused3

Here's hoping we have another good week and stick to this again!

Well, we've stuck to the menu up until tonight. I thought we were going to my parents' to eat. They invited us yesterday, but my DD 9 is sick with the stomach bug, so we won't be going. I did not put the chicken in the crockpot, so we won't be having that or the chicken enchiladas tomorrow night since there will be no cooked chicken.

I just called my DH and had him lay out a pound of ground turkey to thaw. I guess we will be having Cruchy Taco Hamburger Helper. I don't usually buy the stuff, but they have it a $1 a box and I have 75 cents off three, so I have bought quiet of bit of it. My DD will probably have Chicken and Stars, again....

Thur: Crockpot BBQ Sand., mac and cheese, chips (Jr. High FB game)
Fri: Beans and Ham, cornbread (Sr. High FB game)

I'm making two new recipes this week, I hope they are good. I have been in a slump of making the same things so I hope they're keepers. I will be using my crock pot alot this week, which I love. Thanks for letting me join in, everyone have a great week. :goodvibes

As usual, I'm late posting for the week. This is a very busy week for us, but I have a plan.

Monday we had Steak/fries/broccoli
Today we are having chicken stir fry with veggies and rice
Wednesday: Sloppy Joes, corn, potato chips
Thursday: Dh and I are having dinner in NYC :banana: Little Italy here we come!
Friday: Our usual take out Pizza.
Saturday: Pork chops, au gratin potatoes, applesauce, green beans
Sunday: Chicken Parmesan, Salad, garlic bread, pasta.

I'm in. We are just back from Disney so we need to slim our budget and our waists.

I'll start with Sunday since that is usually how I do my weeks...

Sunday: Crockpot BBQ chicken, bisquits, and pears
Monday: Crockpot Pepper steak over brown rice with fruit salad
Tuesday: Make your own flat-out pizza, with homemade pizza sauce
Wednesday: Chicken Casserole, homemade applesauce
Thursday: Italian sausage - Tortellini soup with fresh garlic bread (not cooked, artisian style)
Friday: HotDogs, baked beans, and fruit left-over
Saturday: Mexican night based on leftovers from the week.

I have a few items in the freezer we have to use up that are not so waistline friendly like the hot-dogs, some real italian sausage (I also have chicken sausage).

I also have to do a little stock-up since we used a lot prior to our trip. This thread should get me back onto schedule.

How many of y'all put on the Crock Pot before you leave in the morning? I am always too scared to do that....Like I think my house is going to burn down or something. :confused3

We decided to get pizza out tonight. We do it once a month and our local pizza place does a charity night on tuesday's for the schools so that is what we are having.

So, we didn't have leftover soup and grilled cheese tonight. I didn't have the energy to make grilled cheese. How sad it that?

We just ate leftover spaghetti casserole.

I do, no worries about the crock pot. My Mom used it a couple of times a week for as long as I can remember, and I've never heard of anyone having a fire from their crockpot. Now about that above the stove Mircowave, I DO know that the fire at my Mom's house started from that (and it was not being used at the tiem).
