After reading the Oreo truffle thread, it made me wonder what all everyone else makes?? I saw a few other things in the Oreo thread, and figured we could put all of our ideas into one thread!

I am a big fan of dipping EVERYTHING in chocolate! So most of my ideas are fatty based:lmao:

*Cupcake lollipops (www.bakerella.com)

*Chocolate covered pretzel rods, or twisted pretzels (then sprinkled with lots of crazy sprinkles, candy..whatever I have handy! After the Oreo thread, I may crush some up and throw them on top of my pretzels!!)

*Icing filled cupcakes

*Candy crack- Melt chocolate and add crushed up (but still chunky sized) Oreo's. Then pour into a wx paper lined liner. Let cool and solidify, then break into pieces. Call it candy crack because it is so addicting! You can add tons of stuff other than Oreo's as well! Mini pretzels, reeses, nutter butters, M+M's, etc....

Pics of my Cupcake lollipops and "Famous" (according to DD and her friends:lmao:) Choc. covered pretzels!

I don't have any easy recipes. However I did want to say that your pretzel rods are gorgous! And my kids would love the cupcake lolipops!

I've been making nut brittle. So simple, but so tasty. If anyone is interested, I can post the recipe I use. I am not at the PC with the recipe files at the moment.

Ritz crackers dipped in mint chocolate. Taste just like the thin mint girl scout cookies. Yummy!

Here's a favorite in our house: Pecan Pretzel Candies

we make these as well except I never use pecans and we use mini pretzels not the squares. I also do them with hershey's kisses and reese's pieces.

Also I do Christmas Crack, you can't really go wrong with it. Sometimes it's perfect and other times it is softer or more taffy like but it all still tastes great. LOL

Christmas Crack

Ingredients:
2 sticks butter (real butter tastes best)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 12 oz bag chocolate chips
1 layer saltine crackers on a greased or lined baking tray (it takes 1 1/2 to 2 sleeves of saltines to fill a 12x17 jelly roll pan)

Directions:
- Grease your pan or line w/ parchment paper (lining it is much easier)
- Put one layer of saltine crackers onto the greased pan - set aside
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- Melt together butter and brown suger. Boil for 3 minutes while stirring non-stop
- Pour butter/sugar mixture over crackers and spread evenly across all the crackers
- Bake at 400F for 5 minutes
- Sprinkle 1 bag chocolate chips over the tray and let sit until you can spread the chocolate over the crackers (3-5mins)
- Let cool in the fridge or other cool place until chocolate is hardened.
- Break apart into pieces and enjoy!

another quick and easy one is Cake Balls:

bake any kind of sheet cake
let cool
crumble up the entire cake into a large bowl
mix in a tub of icing
make into little balls
freeze balls

then working very quickly with just a few balls at a time dip into melting chocolate then roll in sprinkles or crushed nuts or leave plain

re-freeze and pull out shortly before eating. Some people drizzle more chocolate over the tops to make them look prettier.

My favourite treat to make is these frozen yogurt things, not sure if they have a name haha!
Anyway, you place Nilla wafers at the bottom of an foil cupcake/muffin cups

In a bowl you mix 3 containers of strawberry yogurt with one tub of Cool Whip, then scoop them up with a spoon and place them into the cupcake holders on top of the wafers. I put all the cupcake holders in a metal holder (like what you'd bake with) so they retain their shape, and put them in the freezer for a few hours til frozen.

Then you have nice wonderful frozen yogurt. :')

Oh also, my family always spends an afternoon making chocolate covered pretzels for the holidays. My mama goes all out with gourmet chocolate, crazy toppings, it's insane. We make hundreds of pretzels. @__@ But that's not an easy treat haha all five of us have to help out, it's crazy! But your desserts reminded me of it -- they all look amazing!

What type of chocolate do you use to make the pretzel sticks? Also, how do you melt the chocolate ( microwave, double boiler, etc.)?

I don't know what these are called, but they are super-easy to make.

1 package semi-sweet chips
1 package butterscotch chips
1 jar of unsalted peanuts

Melt both bags of chips (together) in microwave according to directions on package.
Stir so that chocolate and butterscotch chips are mixed well. Dump in jar of peanuts. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment or waxed paper. Refrigerate to set.

These are yummy!

Oh how I love Bakerella! I am trying the snowglobe cupcakes out tomorrow!

omg! how cute are they!! I wanted to make them so bad, but I have no extra time!! please post pics of yours!

What type of chocolate do you use to make the pretzel sticks? Also, how do you melt the chocolate ( microwave, double boiler, etc.)?

It depends what kind of budget I am on:lmao: sometimes I buy organic gourmet chocolate and sometimes I buy the candy wafers from michaels! I melt mine in a mini crock pot that walgreen's has on sale now for $6.00!! Also for my pretzel rods i made my own contraption so that I can dip them length wise without them looking all yucko!

There was a thread such as this a couple years ago. Loved it so much, I saved the link!

Thanks! I'll look at that! This can be the new 2009 thread!

Oh my goodness!! The recipes on that thread are amazing!! I've been wanting to make some chocolate covered popcorn... My DH will kill me if I come up with 'something else' to make for all of our weekend festivities!!
