Toys R Us has the Intex 10' by 30" pools for $49.99 through this Saturday. The regular price is $79.99. We have had one like this for the last two years. I could not pass up anew one at this price. The kids absolutely love it. My wife and I do also. Perfect thing to cool down in on those hot afternoons.
Remember wherever you go there you are...........

We looked at that but the cover was $24.00, now there is a larger one with a cover and filter and chemicals for $119.00. Do you need chemicals for the small ones??? DH is against it because it will kill his grass! We also have a huge yard but no fence and are wondering about the city ordinance re" these pools.

We have the largest one-the 18x48. The kids love it. I have not had any problems at all with it. They are totally occupied and the money spent is well worth it.

You will still need to add chemicals as it will get slimy and algae will still grow. The only way to avoid that is to empty and clean it all the time, but they aren't meant to do that to.

This is something to definetly look into. Many people overlook this because they aren't the more permanent style above ground pools. Well, our village ordinance regarding pools states anything w/ water depth above 24 inches--- must have walls 4ft our higher-- or a fully fenced yard. Anything w/ 4ft and higher-- can have a removable ladder and or locking deck access. This includes many of the easy set pools, as many of them are only 3ft high!!! Any how our village went around and issued something like 220 summons for people on this issue last summer. I've also heard of people losing their home owners insurance over not meeting their conditions w/ these pools as well.

Just look into everything to cover yourself. We had one 2 years ago and it was great. We had a bit of a hard time keeping it clean but that was our only complaint. We have since had a more traditional above ground pool installed. But for the price-- it can't be beat.

Be sure and check wal mart. They have the inflatable ring pools, right now the 12 x 36 is on sale for 88 dollars. The 12 x 36 pool iwth a cover and skimmer as well is 122 dollars I think. We're going to buy the 16 x 42 pool this week for 238 dollars.

We got the largest one also. Kids love it and it keeps them busy! We bought a vaccum that DH thinks would work better with a sand filter. The pool level needed lowered so he hooked the vaccum up as it was draining and it gave just enough suction to really clean the bottom.
Great alternative to a permenant pool!

You know my dh and I used to have this talk every summer, what kind of pool are we going to get our kids this year?? Three years ago we purchased a larger above ground pool, and it has more than paid for itself, and it is not as much upkeep as I would have thought. We swim every day that it is not raining and have lots of pool parties on bdays, have bbq's and it is a lot of fun. We got a really good deal on it at Family Pools Spas and Billiards, we put a deposit on it in February and paid on it until June that year. It ended up costing us $1500, which isn't too terribly much but it was a great investment for us. Just an idea for someone who wants a little more.
