HI there. Tell me some of the meals you cook in your villas. We do have 2 people that are allergic to shrimp, and one does not eat cold cut sandwiches. Looking for ideas that are quick and easy to make.

We cook grilled cheese, burgers, frozen pizza.

Not what you asked, but we do a lot of take-out.

But the best thing we ever did was have two catered meals brought to us from a caterer who is a furloughed cast member. She brought a HUGE breakfast and a full 'ohana type meal. Both lasted for days, was reasonbly priced, and delicious!!

I've seen on Chef that caters the Ohana meals, it was $50pp almost as much as Ohana. Did your chef charge as much?

She had several options. The one we ordered was $60 pp, but IMO better than 'Ohana and we had leftovers for lunch multiple days.

If you are in a one-bedroom or larger you have the full kitchen so you can cook pretty much anything. Grilled cheese is a fast and easy one that we do a lot, plus breakfast items. Chicken wings or chicken fingers in the oven. We'll often use the outdoor grills onsite for steak, burgers, chicken breasts and even lobster one March at the Grand Floridian.

It was quite a while ago, but there was a long thread on DISboards by a family who spent weeks in a studio and cooked all their meals there. Might be worth searching for - wish I could remember the title of the thread!

Out of curiosity I'll see if I can find it. I can't imagine cooking in a studio. Some people have the patience and the skills set to do it, I don't think I do.

Pasta
Taco or Nacho Bar (cook meat, buy premade everything else)
Hot dog bar
Lasagna (frozen)
Pot roast + potatoes + carrots (can be crockpot
Soups + bread from Sam's or Costco, just need heating up

I found it! There are two different threads:p from the family:
Four weeks in a studio, using the kitchenette - and survived

The Wells family Disney Adventures

I don’t know how to embed a link to a post.

I really enjoyed reading it way back in 2018.

IIRC there were a lot of creative ideas that could work in a full kitchen too.

When my boys were young, I would ordered a couple of Frozen Pizza, bag Caesar’s Salad and some fruit for a quick an affordable dinner for a family of 5.
It was a quick, easy and a calm in the Villa dinner.

With the advent of Uber Eats etc. I think these days we would just order in. I’m on vacation, I really don’t want to cook. But some love too.
