Has anyone done both the Eastern and the Special Cruise (that brings you to CC twice). We did the Special Cruise last May and were thinking about booking the Eastern cruise in early April 2007. Basically, is St. Maarten and St. Thomas really cool?

We've done the Eastern, but not the special. I'd love CC twice! We didn't get a chance to experience it all in just one day. St. Maarten and St. Thomas are nice, but since we did excursions, we really didn't get to see much of the island anyway.

We have never done the double stop cruise. We have done 1 eastern however, and one special eastern. We love this itinerary. The extra sea day is heavenly. We do a gorgeous beach day for each island. They each are beautiful in their own way. St. Johns, is am amazing place to visit, on the St. THomas day. I would book this in a hearbeat again..HTH :goodvibes

We've done both. Loved both. I wish they would combine and do a DD Eastern!!!

I loved the DD because of the 2 stops of course. Pure heaven!!! Costa Maya was nice enough, we really enjoyed the wave runners. It rained which was ok. The people in port were extremely pushy, more so than any other port including Nassau.

Of course Coz. was still recovering and we had to tender and our day was way shorter than expected, but we had a great day snorkeling with Eagle Ray.

We LOVE the Eastern. The first 2 days at sea are awesome. It gives you a lot of time to settle in, RELAX!!!!!

We loved both the ports as well. St. Martin we spent the morning at the beautiful Dawn Beach. Then we came back to get cleaned up, eat and shop. There is a very nice beach-Great Bay Beach right at the port. The taxis and water taxi is very convenient and easy.

St. Thomas we did the best excursion out of all of our trips with Capt. Nautica. Highly recommended if anyone wants a great snorkeling experience. We didn't shop much, just at the dock.

I would love to do another Eastern, but unfortunately, it doesn't sound like it will sailing in the summer of 2008.

We prefer the Eastern cruise to the western for many reasons including IMO nicer ports and the extra day at sea. We have done 2 of these. The scenery is beautiful!!! We didn't enjoy our Western as much but jumped at the chance to do the DD. We will be staying on the ship at Cozumel to get our sea day. :) The venders are not pushy on the Eastern like they were in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Of course, any cruise with two stops at CC is a good one. :)

We haven't done "both" yet, but LOVE the eastern stops...they are gorgeous!!! (but then, so is CC!)

The best thing :woohoo: would be the eastern itinerary with 2 stops at Castaway Cay.

I have done both itineraries.

We've done both and unless DCL comes up with special sailings in 2008 plan to have our next one be an Eastern. While 2 days at CC is wonderful we aren't big fans of either Cozumel (we stayed on the ship because we had been there before) or Costa Maya.

I love the Eastern because of the 3 sea days and also because I think St. Thomas is one of my favorite ports.

I wish they'd do a double dip Eastern! :confused3 I am not really all that interested in Western ports, however would love 2 stops at CC. I'd be in heaven if they did 2 days at CC and the Eastern ports! :cloud9: Not sure if that's even a possibility since it takes longer to get to the Eastern ports!

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks!

Well, thanks to all who responded...it looks like a perfect cruise would be the Eastern with two stops at CC. Am I right? Well, that does it...the Eastern it is. We were not great fans of either stop (Cozumel or Costa Maya) on our "alternate" cruise, so we shall try the Eastern. I tell my fiance there is a reason my son's vacation lines up so perfectly with the Eastern cruise the first week in April!!! :Pinkbounc  :yay: :bounce:

Amen.

(We've been on the Eastern, Western, and DD.)
