Which would be the better cruise for a person that likes the beach? I have never been to the Caribbean, so I am open to either.

We prefer the eastern itineraries. Just our family's personal favorites! The beaches are gorgeous and ports seem a little safer to us. We have done many western itineraries though, and they are great also.

I kind of agree with you on feeling safer on the Eastern, but I don't see a stop on a RC private stop like Labadee on the Western. Do they have one on the Eastern cruise?

The two RCCL private places are Labadee (in Haiti) and Cococay. We got Cococay on our Eastern itinerary. And we loved our Eastern itinerary!

It looks like that if you take a smaller ship you get Cococay, but on the larger ships like the Allure, they go to Nassau instead. We have been to Nassau, and really have no desire to return.
