Finally have the time to sit down and write. I intended to do a long report, however I just don't have it in me so here are my highlights and not so highlights:
HIGHLIGHTS:
The staff was really nice.
The entertainment was top notch
The pools (other than Thursday) were not as crowded as I was prepared for
Kids hair braiding on the boat, the ladies were nice and the girls thought it was great and I enjoyed watching them do it.
Sail Away and especial Pirate deck parties were great
Room was nice and plenty of room
Choice of movies (although crowedd) on CC day that were added was nice, we saw both The Pacifier and Ice Princess that I did not think we were going to squeeze in during the cruise.
Very intimate Disney experience. I expected to have more crowds and although the boat was full, I never felt that we couldn't do something if we wanted to with more than just a few minutes wait. The character breakfast was nice as well.
Brittish Pub night-worth staying up for!
Quite cove pool and hot tubs-loved them but would have loved more time in them!
Porthole-although this was free for us thanks to an upgrade, I enjoyed being able to look out when we were in port and see something. Not as big of a deal on sea days.
Beauty of the ship-really a classic look and very well maintained.
Room service-although we did not order it for ourselves, it was very nice for the kids while we were getting dressed.
Disney movies on the TV by demand!
Family hot tubs after a day on the beach, shower off and soak for a while. Really nice way to relax.
Our cabin host doing things with the kids stuffed animals, after the first night, they couldn't wait to get back to the room each night
NOT SO HIGHLIGHTS:
The weather on CC, it was a very depressing way to end the week. We were still entertained for the day, however not what we were expecting when we went to bed.
Schedule in the kids clubs. Seems 'choppy' with the club taking the kids to lunch and dinner. My kids were on a different eating schedule and did not want to go with the clubs to eat, so working around that and other "transition" times proved to be more hassle than it was worth. My kids "liked" the clubs, but by the end only went if we asked them as a favor. The seemed to have fun, but just didn't LOVE them.
The food: although pretty much what I expected, I was hopefull that it was going to be surprisingly good. Most things were good, not great. It was nice that I did not have to cook it!
A Cabin upgrade to "forward" on the ship. Made for a lot of walking when we had booked a "mid" cabin. It did help however to be on Deck 6 instead of 2 so it was probably a wash.
The islands-although others probably had a better experience, we had a grumpy 4 year old and could not do any snorkling excursions and the beach trips that we planned were cut short since she would get grumpy after an hour of sand in her eyes, etc. Should have gone to Coral World and probably would have been a better day.
Rocking of the ship-I have cruised twice before, however 10 years ago, but I don't remember the constant non-stop rocking although our seas were relatively mild. Our cabin creaked all night from the motion.
Immigration in St. Thomas-really stinks
Animators on the first night. For whatever reason, there was no "show" the first night-waiters never changed their vests from B/W to color and the walls were already color when we arrived and did not change. Not sure what happended there.
Embarkation and Dembarkation not as smooth as I had heard it could be, I think we hit bad timing both times.
That's all I can remember at this point. We did not rebook, however when the kids are older, I would like to do a 4 night with some time at Disney World. In hindsight, I wish I would have done a 4 night now why the kids were young and waited until they were older for the 7 night to full appreciate the islands we visited.
