Easter this year

We usually have 13 people or more over for dinner.
This year will be just 5 of us.
Going to attempt an egg hunt with our 2 year old granddaughter.

Easter is the one time a year I can get my husband to go to this all you can eat chicken restaurant (Wright’s for all you southern New Englanders!). He won’t go any other time of year for some reason. So we’ll be staying home with the kids and cooking a turkey breast. I’m sad we can’t go to Wright’s. :(

Food- I have not decided. I think Italian beef. I’m not having anyone over that day. I’m in the country and have enough tables and space outside to let families have their own space and bring their own food, but mom is 85 and I don’t wish to shout at her. Plus my sister is sick (covid negative).

DD is sheltering in place elsewhere, I sent most of her Easter stuff to her in March. Her TP 🧻 arrives tomorrow-there is none where she is, best present ever 🤸‍♀️

I’d like to know what are you guys putting in your quarantine Easter baskets? I did DS basket today for entertainment.
DS 19 basket. All bought before lock down.
Girl Scout cookies
Fruit roll ups by the foot.
Chicken in a Biscuit crackers.
HERSHEY snap apart 🐰 ( I have no idea why but I love those )
2 Gourmet suckers.
Pez for his dispenser
Easter shaped sweet tarts
white chocolate candies: 1 of each M & M, Reece’s, snickers bar, kit Kat bar, HERSHEY almond bar and white pretzels.
Normal Payday bar.
Sixlets. And a cream egg thing.

DH a York bunny, payday and a white kit kat bar. I got myself bunny sweet tarts.
York bunny ! Like a mint chocolate one....cool my husband would like that too , we don’t have bunny shaped sweet tarts either.

Only thing we have that you don’t are kinder eggs, at Easter and Christmas they have huge ones out , you can also pick girl or boy unlike the small ones you can get anytime.

We'll do what we normally do, except watch Mass life stream instead of actually going. Then we'll have our Easter meal for lunch. Maybe watch some movies, play some board games. I've stopped getting my girls things for Easter except this year I just got my youngest a giant Ferrero Rocher chocolate, which she wants me to hide somewhere in the house :) My other daughter didn't want any candy so I got her a Shin Godzilla. Yeah, my girls are definitely unique ones :)

Wait... you are going to let the bunny in to hide eggs? What if he brings the 'rona with him? So many questions.

We'll do our typical easter morning stuff, make an egg bake (enough to serve 10.. our family of 4 will do fine with it), and then watch our easter service online (our church has gone to all video services for now). Then there will likely be ham (or perhaps corned beef, as that is my lovely wife's latest kick). We'll make the best of it, and enjoy a bit more time together as a family. Or perhaps we'll be at each others' throats by then? Its like Schrodinger's Easter.
We were told by our governor that the Easter Bunny is an essential employee and doesn’t carry the virus

Watching mass on tv is a must. Then head to the Church. It’s open. We can sit and pray. Just no mass. Hopefully after May(ish) we can get back to mass. I miss it.

We will have a nice breakfast (French toast casserole, bacon, the works) and dinner. I ordered Easter dinner from The Fresh Market.

DH and I always hide eggs for the kids, so we’ll still do that. Instead of the usual candy I ordered Woodhouse Chocolates for the kids (each gets a bunny and a box of chocolates). Figured I’d try to make this year extra extravagant.

The day after Easter is DD’s 13th birthday. We are hoping to make it special for her.

We'll call our parents/grandparents and some siblings/aunts & uncles. We're doing an indoor egg hunt just for our kids and we'll dye eggs as well. I ordered a kit from Target for one child who prefers them, but on Saturday I'll make dyes with the one who likes to do that better.

We'll do some family oriented activities--maybe make art or color to send to family, play a game, go for a walk, watch an Easter cartoon.

Nothing major, but hopefully still enjoyable.

The weirdest thing for me right now is that we have no Easter flowers. I've never not had Easter flowers before. But we have no need to go to a store for food before then, and I'm not going out only for flowers.
