Easter Sunday Was Rough Without Him...

Four years ago (on Good Friday) Bobby graduated from Boot Camp and we all flew home together. I can remember how proud I was to have him in church with his entire family on Easter Sunday - in his Marine Corp uniform.

This morning, I looked down the length of the pew and there were my husband and I, our five daughters, our son (Kevin), son-in-law, grandson and even a "future" son-in-law...but no Bobby. We took up an entire pew, but we were missing an important link to the family.

I had more tears today than I've had in the past two weeks!

Tomorrow will be a better day...

I'm really sorry Patty. I know how you feel about wanting your family all together on the special holidays. I hate it when there is a holiday and one of my family members cannot be with us. But at the rate we're going maybe he'll be home before the next holiday .

I am so sorry Bobby wasn't home with you yesterday.

I felt the same way with me and my two kids by ourselves. I kept looking around at all the kids with their dads, and wives with their husbands. It also felt very sad to be at his mom's house for Easter without him. Dh said they had some beef meal, and didn't even have anything like an Easter dinner. I imagine it was tough on the guys over there as well.
