I am putting together the Spring/Easter Exchange, and was wondering if those interested in participating has started to see Easter items in your stores yet? I used to feel that the stores here were the last to put out their holiday items, but after last year figured out that we are not :cool1: . I had started to see Easter items in stores from last month, and many things online.
I like the colder weather versus the hot muggy weather, but I am ready for Spring to come, to start planting different plants, decorating for the season, buying Easter gifts, stuffing plastic eggs....
So, I am wondering on when is the best time to start the sign ups for this exchange. I do want to leave enough time for things to be sent within a resonable time during the start of Spring or before, but would like people to be able to order Easter items online, or to purchase them in the stores.

Who is ready for this exchange? ....this is not a sign up thread....sign ups will come later, so stay tuned for it :flower3:

Normally we have loads of Easter Eggs in our stores at the beginning of January but so far we only have Creme Eggs and a few other bits n bobs. It's not just the one store either - they all seem to have the same idea this year. :confused3 I am sure we will have tons soon.

My DDs would love to participate in an Easter exchange. :thumbsup2

You would think that with how the economy is, stores would have more things out right. :confused3 I was hoping to get more of an assortment of Dahallia bulbs, but they did not have as many to choose from :(.

I do volunteer work at two hospital gift shops. One of them has had quite a lot of Easter/spring items out since mid January. The other gift shop has just started putting out some spring items this past week. Springtime/Easter items at both gift shops are decorative items, collectables, silk flower arrangements, candy, kitchen linens, plush animals, etc. I'm also seeing spring displays in stores now, too. I live in Minnesota so anything that relates to growing in the garden, etc. won't appear until April. I have a feeling once Valentine's Day displays are taken down and those items are put on clearance, the shelves will be full of Easter and springtime. I'm thinking maybe sign ups should start at the end of Feb. to get the most bang for our buck? :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Just barely starting....I think more will show up as soon as Valentine stuff is over.

I've seen a few things. I think I'll see a lot more after Valentine's Day. I might be interested in this one, depends on the dates & what my schedule brings. I might be visiting my nephews & niece in March.

I will work the dates out, and it might be coming up soon. Then everyone will be able to keep an eye out for exchange items when they go to the store, as well as ordering things online.

I have seen some here. They usually do put stuff out WAY to early here for some reason, maybe its to take our minds off the horrific cold weather!:sad2:

The bathing suits are out now:lmao: and its been about ten degrees, not really readt to swim yet:rolleyes:

Well the one grocery store I was at today is loaded with Peeps. A few hearts for Valentines, but mostly chicks and bunnies for Easter and now they have yellow tulips.

We have tulips here at our stores, and they just add to that special Spring touch.

Maybe you could request them on your sign up. :thumbsup2

Sarah your best bet is to ask for them in your sign-up, as I don't think the UK gets them. My sister has a friend in the UK that she sends a bunch of peeps too.

Do you also like sugar? Peeps are nothing but marshmallow and sugar. I really like them, especially when I take them out of the package and let them sit for a little while and get a little hardest to them. I like them better this way instead of right out of the package.

DH used to let his sit a full year  They were hard as rocks.
Now if they would just chocolate cover then, I might like them :rotfl:

Also for Halloween, Valentines, Easter, and Christmas, they have different shaped marshmallows-pumpkins, bats, snowmen, Christmas trees, Easter eggs, and hearts....

I will start the exchange sign up now since people are already seeing Easter items, and since Valentines Day is only next Saturday. Also, this exchange is for Spring items, so you can all be on the lookout for items like that as well.
