Hi all,
I have a really stupid ham question. One of the local stores in my area is having a special (spend $300 between X and X and receive a free ham). I am about $50.00 away from that amount (this is not the store that I usually shop at). Anyway, if I were to get the free ham, would I be able to just cut it up and freeze it (can you even freeze ham) into individual sandwich portions? Would it need to be cooked first and then frozen? I have no idea. I always just eat the left overs for the week. My husband won't eat ham, and we are going to a relatives for Easter so I would have a lot of ham in the house.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Ham freezes very well. If it is fully cooked, yes, you can just slice it and freeze to have for sandwiches. If not, just bake it till it comes up to safe temp and then do whatever you want with it.

If it's ShopRite, you can get a family sized frozen Stouffer's lasagna instead.

There was a time when I turned my nose up at the thought of making frozen lasagna. I'm over that now. I work hard and need easy-to-make meals during the week.

Just thought of when I was little, my mom used to make scalloped potato with ham in it....I just might have to find a recipe for that and make some....
