Easter Events at Disney Resorts

Hi. My family and I went to Universal two years ago and stayed at Lowes Pacific during Easter break. My kids were blown away by the Easter egg hunt the hotel did on Easter Sunday. Not only were there a ton of eggs but some of the eggs had redeemer slips for some very cool gifts. We will be in Disney for this upcoming Easter break and was wondering if anyone knows of any Disney Resorts ( I assume Deluxe if any) that have had really cool Easter Day events/egg hunts. Any of you ever experience anything like that at Disney?

We were at YC for Easter 2019. They didn’t have an egg hunt, but had a candy scramble out on the lawn for the different age groups. After that there were some carnival type games set up. And Mickey was there for a meet & greet. If you do a search I know there are some photos of the lobby poster with the events listed. We didn’t have kids with us so not sure of prizes etc.

Also the resorts previously had beautiful Easter eggs displayed in their lobbies. Not little ones, but large carved chocolate eggs with Disney themes. We spent a day resort hopping to check them all out. This was all pre Covid of course. No idea what will happen this year.

Disney will usually do some Easter related things, but I would keep expectations rather low (even in non-COVID times). I've been around the resorts for a handful of Halloweens, NYEs, Easters, etc - just judging from your description, it sounds like what you experienced at Uni/RPC is an upgrade over what you're likely to experience at a WDW resort.

Don't get me wrong, we've always enjoyed Disney resorts for special events - but we're generally talking rather low/limited budget affairs run by the well-intentioned, but small recreation staffs.

Easter is my favorite holiday at WDW! All resorts do some type of candy scramble &/or egg hunt. Yc/BC is our favorite. We've stayed there the past 4 years (including 2019) and it is a lot like you described at UO . I know an above poster said they don't have an egg hunt but they do!! At the candy scramble is where they have the special eggs that you get really nice prizes for. Baskets, disney plush, disney toys, etc. Then they have a really cute carnival with all sorts of fun games, it has a different theme every year. There's character meet and greets, the great golden egg hunt, which is a giant scavenger hunt all over the resort with big prizes for the family that finds the golden egg. I highly doubt they'll do much this year but hopefully everything will return in 2022!

We've also stayed at BW, GF, POR and CSR all at Easter and every resort has had fun activities all day. Also you can pay a small fee for a basket and whatever you want to put in it (can be non-disney stuff) and they'll deliver it to your room Easter morning. Its always packaged beautifully and definitely a highlight of the morning.

NYE and Halloween this year were both super quiet and toned down. I would not expect any Easter event that promotes people gathering in groups. Anything offered in 2019 or prior is not likely to happen this year.
