Easter Bunny

Hi all,

last Xmas when we stayed at ASMo, Father Xmas left some sweeties on everybodies door in pretty red bags.

We are back there next Easter and was wondering if the Easter Bunny visits.

This information is for Katharine of course (save trying to get a buttons egg to Flordia in one piece and not melted).

Only the Swan and Dolphin have an Easter Bunny visit with an Easter basket but you pay ( a lot!) for that service!
The resorts can do an Easter Basket delivery to your room which you need to arrange in advance ( and pay for!), and some of the resorts have had Easter egg hunts and egg decorating ( not the chocolate kind!) in the past, you'd need to check with your resort nearer the time.

I don't know what the current set-up is, but can only tell you what we experienced when we visited over Easter in 1997!

We were staying at the Caribbean Beach resort and there was an Easter Egg hunt advertised for Easter Sunday on one of the open grassy areas at the front of the resort, but it didn't state a time. We strolled over with DDs at about 10:00am and found the CMs packing everything away . They were only too happy to give DDs both a bag of Easter goodies as they didn't want them to miss out! There was no charge for this.

Don't miss the Easter parade in MK (although the park will be very busy!). If you've already seen the other parades this is nice because it's a bit different. I seem to remember the DDs being given little chocolate eggs and sweets from some of the shops in MK, too.

You won't be able to buy a Chocolate Egg in Orlando - well not the kind we usually get - maybe something fancy if you find a speciality store somewhere.

The American easter bunny brings chocolate bunnies normally. You will probably also find very small solid chocolate eggs, about the size of a malteser but wrapped in shiny paper.

It's not something you'd want to do in a hotel room - but all the supermarkets will have kits you can buy to die your easter eggs really funky colours - we always used to do this when we were kids.

We get Cadbury eggs here. Is that what you're talking about Bev? I'd bring my own just to be sure though. If you arrive shortly before Easter it could be hard to find what you're looking for.

Olaf - Do you mean the creme eggs, with the white and yellow 'yolk' inside? We have those as well, but they aren't the main event, so to speak

The traditional english easter egg is largish, and hollow and when I was a kid it had sweeties inside, now the sweeties tend to be packaged in the box buit not actually inside the egg.

Yep Bev, that's what I meant. They come in large and small sizes and absolutely sicky sweet.

Here's a photo of a sugar egg that I put in DS basket this year. I think these are neat.

And a photo of DS with my girlfriend's daughter. He's showing off his basket of goodies.

I've gone a little bit nutty about taking pictures since I got a digital camera.

is that too eat? It looks amazing, but a bit sickly if it's all made of sugar! Then again 6 chocolate easter eggs gets a bit sickly too!

Yes, you can eat them. They're made out of sugar and royal icing, which is very hard. Some of them can have elaborate scenes inside. But, you're right, they are sicky sweet.

What I can't stand are those icky marshmellow peeps. DS and DH absolutely love them. Ugh! They're disgusting.

I'll stick with my Dove Chocolate easter bunnies and malted milk chocolate easter eggs. Yum! Yum!
