So what is everybody doing for their kiddies Easter baskets this year. I have a DD 13 and a DS 9 and I am having a hard time coming up with something for their baskets. I always get the best ideas here. Thanks in advance for your help. :)

I saw an idea somewhere (maybe here?!) to fill Easter baskets with summer/pool necessities (goggles, beach towels, flip flops, water bottles...) and fun (squirt guns, pool floats, outside thermometer [we just moved to Phoenix and they're obsessed with the weather]....)
My kids are 10 and 7 and it's getting hard to figure out what to do so Easter baskets are not just filled with a bunch of junk I end up tossing a couple days later or have to find a place for!
I'm definitely doing the summer theme for Easter baskets from here on out, or if we ever have a trip planned for April/May I'll do a vacation theme.

dd4 I am not sure yet. Ds 11 and 14 will be getting xbox points (they are obsessed wit them, they get new games, I have no mess), A chocolate bunny and a little bit of candy.

DS7-lego set, a couple skylander people, a spin sucker (he loves these for some reason), batting gloves, itune card, cool t-shirt and a book or two

DS21-(DS7 gets upset if he does not get something)- gift cards and maybe a bit of candy.

Our kids are at similar ages. (DS is 8.5, though). I've bought them both a little candy (they don't eat very much) and will get them chocolate bunnies & small stuffed rabbits.

DS will get a Skylander figure and/or a Rabbids game.

My DD is a little oppositional right now and I'm having a hard time figuring what to get her. She doesn't like makeup and the only thing I'm thinking of right now for sure is sidewalk chalk. She loves to draw large, elaborate pictures on our long driveway. She got Disney Infinity for Christmas and seemed excited about it. A month ago, she bought Rapunzel but now says she doesn't know if she really likes it.

I'll post back as I get more ideas.

I always get my kiddos a new movie for their basket. My dd2 will be getting Frozen :-)
I always do a chocolate bunny and a toothbrush. Other than that, it just depends on what I see.

DD is almost 11.
Every year I include a DVD (it'll be Frozen this year). And I purchased a phone case (cheap on Amazon, less that $5). Not sure what else I'll get. I usually don't have a problem with the basket, as I get misc. items from Five Below or wherever. I struggle with plastic egg fillers though. I try to only do a handful with candy.

When she was younger, it was easier- stickers (cut a sheet into strips, fills several eggs), barbie clothes (buy an outfit, split Into sevela eggs), squinkies, hair clips, etc.

I try to spend $40 or less. The DVD is a big chunk of that. The rest is cheaper "filler" stuff.

DD13 is getting:
- Aeropostale, Abercrombie and AE Tshirts (they fit nicely into a basket rolled up and tied with a ribbon)
- A couple of fun iPod covers (she likes to change hers a lot)
- A couple of EcoTools makeup brushes
- BBW Perfume/Body Wash/Lotion (leftover from Christmas - I overbought for her stocking :rotfl:)
- A 5-pack of earrings
- Some travel-size items for our vacation this summer: face wash, makeup wipes, shaving lotion
- Various types of candy, most bought at after-Christmas sales. I figure candy is candy - DD will enjoy it whether it has Santas or Easter Bunnies on it!

I stopped the filled eggs last year. I was tired of trying to think of things to put in them for her without breaking the bank or overloading her with candy. We decided to replace the eggs with a new tradition of going to iHop for breakfast instead. "iHop" - that's Easter-ish, right?? :lmao:

DD 16 is getting a chocolate bunny, some earrings (just got her ears pierced), and a $15 gift card to spend at WDW for our trip this summer. DS is also getting a chocolate bunny, gas card, and also a $15 gift card to spend at WDW this summer.

My kids may seem a bit too old to get Easter baskets, but we skipped them a couple of years ago because DH and I thought they were getting too old for them and the kids were pretty sad about it. :)

Like another poster said, I fill my boys baskets with summer stuff. New beach toys, swimsuits, floats, etc. Summer comes early here in Fl so they use it almost immediately.

Easter always falls just before vacation for us so we always do vacation (summer) necessities.

This year our vacation is our first family trip to Disney! The girls will get to do a scavenger Easter egg hunt. All the clues will be hidden in eggs and when all the clues are put together they should be able to figure out they are going to Disney. The trip is from us, of course, and I want them to know that. But the Easter Bunny is bringing summer clothes, MagicBands, park maps, autograph books, the planning DVD, Minnie ears, gift cards, etc, along with some chocolate.

My kids, 18, 14 and 7 are getting movie themed baskets. This is what I have so far: 18, - Chicago fire 1st season DVD, DD 14- Frozen and Ana Disney infinity, DS- PeterPan DVD Disney Infinity and sorcerer Mickey. I'll probably get a few movie candy and etc plus a few Easter staples. I'm trying really hard not to go crazy this year!

I usually get a bathing suit and an outfit. This year I am going to order those custom autograph books for our trip and some items for the trip. Spray Bottle and the EOS they love these thing. Basically its a lot of the stuff we will need for a trip. WIN/WIN

This year I have two Easter baskets to fill :) One will be for an 8 year old girl and the other for a newborn baby.

For the 8 year old I bought her a really nice spring/summer dress, box set of "Little House on the Prairie" books, some hair bows, and trying to find an Elsa Barbie doll (oh my goodness hardest thing ever to find!) and Ana doll. I will probably throw in a chocolate bunny. I try to stay away from the candy.

For the newborn (which really I feel silly making a basket for but it's more for my older daughter who still believes in the Easter bunny) I bought a similar spring/summer outfit, board books, and a stuffed bunny. No candy for her lol

Besides the usual chocolate bunny and some other little candies, I always get my daughter the books she loves. This year I'm also thinking of a CD (loves music too), a movie, maybe an outfit for her AG Doll.

I usually put stuffed animals in all the kids' baskets but I saw Costco has discounted build a bear gift cards so I decided to buy each kid one of those. We'll throw in some chocolate candy and some other small stuff but I'm trying to limit the amount of artificial colors we eat. I can't avoid them altogether since most birthday cakes are covered in colored icing but we try to avoid it at home. Easter candy is full of colors it seems.

I've been doing a movie since my DD was little too and this year she'll be 13. I already got the new Hunger Games DVD because I had Rite Aid rewards that expired on Sunday and they had a special on it. However now I'm debating about whether or not to also get Frozen because she has been hinting about it to me. I just don't know how long a kid her age will enjoy Frozen but she is a huge disney freak, she has even told me that she wants to get married at WDW so I guess I raised her right :rotfl2: I'll also give her some nail polish, some smelly stuff and a little bit of candy. I used to also give her a disney Easter themed plush but I stopped that a few years ago.

The last few years, my kids pretty much ignore candy in their Easter baskets and they don't use the cutesy Easter-themed eraser, toys, stuffed animals. I started putting in more practical items (much like I do for their Christmas stockings now). For the girls, hair clips, nailpolish, Bath & Body works lotion or spray, etc. For my 9-year-old son, I put a small Lego item or game subscription card. Last year he was into the Club Penguin game online so we got him a 3-month game card. I still put in a few candies, but usually I'm the one who ends up eating them after they have been abandoned by the kids. :rolleyes1

Our youngest (2 yrs old) will be getting Peeps and some stickers. He hates chocolate. Must get that from his father's side!
